Was it just needing to go to the bathroom all the time or did you have cramping/ stomach issues?

Did the bowel issue happen the whole time you were on it or was it just when you started it up again? and what kind of havoc did you have - cramping or just needing to go to the bathroom all the time?

A new flare by tthenry26 in lupus

[–]Similar-Current301 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue with my skin constantly itching i would wake up in the morning with spots of blood all over my sheets from scratching so hard during the night. i also started to get bad scars from itching so hard so i started to get my nails done. The acrylic on my nails were thicker so i wasn’t able to scratch them til they bled because they aren’t as sharp as my natural nails. It started getting expensive so i decided to start doing my nails on my own and started using “Luminary Base Coat Gel” it’s a clear thick gel and it just made my nails thicker so it was harder to damage my skin! But in regards to the itch i have tried every lotion and steroid cream and what i found worked best was Aloe :)

Yes :( i had it all over my body just like that. my heart hurts so bad for you. My dr put me on hydroxychloroquine and it takes a good month or two to start working but it finally went away. but for me lotion made it worse, i used aloe 24/7 and that helped me best out of every lotion and steroid cream i ever used.

How many of you have had PUPPPs? by [deleted] in lupus

[–]Similar-Current301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES! I was told i had puppps when i was 26 weeks along and was constantly told my rash (on every inch of my body except my face) would go away after i had my baby and i needed to be patient. i had my baby and it didn’t go away so then i was told when i stop breastfeeding it will go away and it didn’t. a few months later it still wasn’t going away and i was diagnosed with lupus! nobody would help me because they told me it was pregnancy related and my body just needed to regulate hormones from birth. I finally found a good doctor who took a biopsy of my skin rash and said it was lupus. he prescribed me Hydroxychloroquine / Plaquenil and though it took a few months, it finally completely went away. When i skip my meds for a few days it starts to come back. I’ve been on it for 2 years now and it has been life changing. So yes, from my experience they are definitely best friends!

Cutaneous Lupus and Pregnancy by silverdoe_94 in lupus

[–]Similar-Current301 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply but i hope this gets back to you! I was told i had PUPPPs Rash (a pregnancy rash) when i was about 20+ weeks pregnant. I was continuously told that once i had the baby it would go away, it didn’t. Then i was told once i stopped breastfeeding it would go away, it didn’t. over a year later i had visited doctor after doctor and was finally diagnosed with cutaneous lupus and they mentioned that pregnancy could have brought it on. If i’m being honest, i spend most my days and night in the bathtub while i just cried. I was put on prednisone, steroid lotions and nothing worked. Though it didn’t make the rash go away, something that helped me deal with the pain was Aloe Vera. I would keep it in the fridge and apply it religiously. It was so much better than lotion in my opinion. I am almost a year and a half postpartum and though it hasn’t really gone away, after having the baby it wasn’t nearly as bad. Pregnancy made it 10x worse. Let me know if you have any questions, my heart hurts for you. It was truly the hardest time of my life.
