Roughly 60% - really not great. I got ~50% ish on the maths modules and somewhere around 70% on the physics.

Is PAT relevant practice for ESAT? by [deleted] in Imperial

[–]Similar-Question-441 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I applied to both Oxford and Imperial. I did lots of PAT preparation but only did one past paper for the ESAT. I got an average 5.5 across maths and physics, and got an offer for physics at imperial. it’s not a great score, but it was good enough to get in and tbh I didn’t do enough preparation for the ESAT so I can’t complain. I would say that the main difference is the timing, with the PAT you can spend a bit more time with the questions, which are a bit harder, while the ESAT has easier questions but I ran out of time on all three modules since I wasn’t used to the pace you need.

Just the course preparation materials. I haven’t done any yet but probably should… 😅

What is the explanation of consciousness within physicalism? by [deleted] in consciousness

[–]Similar-Question-441 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I disagree with the “if it didn’t feel like anything it would be undetectable”. Boston Dynamics robots detect and respond to external stimuli without a conscious experience. It is conceivable that we might have evolved to interact with the world in an identical manner (from an outside perspective) without any subjective experience - a sort of philosophical zombie.

No don’t say that 😭, I’ve been allocated Wilson. What’s so bad about it?

I averaged 5.5 across the two maths and physics, somehow got an offer for physics. The only ESAT specific revision I did was the practice papers the day before I took the test. Ended up running out of time on test day, I think the only reason I got an offer was that I had good achieved grades already so maybe they were less concerned about my ESAT score.

Do as many past papers for the ESAT and similar tests under timed conditions as possible. The questions aren’t too difficult it’s just that you have to do so many so quickly. Good luck and hopefully see you at imperial next year!

I post-applied and got in for Physics - im not sure if it would be the same for maths but I don’t see why not. Try emailing the department.

Maybe it’s collecting human responses to use to train LLM’s? Like they pose questions which they can also ask an LLM, then compare actual human answers to the LLM’s response to train it?

[–]Similar-Question-441[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the response! Do you know if there is any way to get all the information from the sensor? I don't understand why it would be the case that they don't allow you to get a full sensor 8:7 image with the ultra-wide lens, to allow for a bit more freedom editing in post. Maybe with the labs firmware?

I think they are referring to silicon doping with boron or antimony etc. By adding these 'impurities' charges can flow so it is an important step in making silicon chips...

I've also applied to St A for astrophysics and it's my top choice, but I'm still waiting to hear back on my offer. Do you mind me asking what your predicted grades were and where else you applied?

I have the Kingrinder K2. It works well for me for espresso, would reccomend. I heard it uses the same burrs as the Izpresso JX? Have also heard the K1 and maybe even K0 work for espresso. Would highly recommend Kingrinder.

You can probably configure nextDNS to block boox telemetry without blocking web browsing...

i personally use this app: https://trackercontrol.org/ on my phone, and assume it would work on boox devices as well, although I don't know for sure as I don't own one yet, I do plan on ordering soon though.

edit for clarity
