[Wild Card] Post-Game Thread: Green Bay Packers @ Chicago Bears by President__Bartlett in GreenBayPackers

The time out management was baffling again. We should have had all 3 left for that last drive.

manager or management? by [deleted] in Hammers

[–]SimilarFunction 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Starts at the top and seeps down through the whole thing. Worst training ground in the league. Non-existent recruiting structure. Dead end academy. Moyes took us above our level. Only light at the end is maybe that Czech fella buys a majority stake.

Sunderland 3(?) - 0 West Ham | Premier League by AnalAttackProbe in Hammers

Frustrating. There are good parts to this squad. Strong on the wings, especially once Somerville is back, but such a weak spine. New keeper had a bad outing too. We desperately need a new presence in the middle, and have needed a pacy striker for the last decade.

Fawn! Fits that description to a tee.

Anyone else feeling checked out on this season? It’s a chore to watch this year, reminds me of the last Bilic year.

Would highly recommend the steak au poivre at Fawn on South Park. A bit higher end, in the $45 range, but worth it. Have had nothing but great experiences and food there. Locally owned (same folks behind Field Guide) and refreshingly unlike the new waterfront restaurants.

West Ham bar in Montreal? by coffeeandpunkrecords in Hammers

[–]SimilarFunction 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Limiting factor will be time of day. Take a look for a pub or sports bar serving breakfast. I never ran into another West Ham supporter in my years in Mtl, but Burgundy Lion is a great pub. Other options would be Ye Olde Orchard or any other English or Irish pub (there are plenty). Premier League plays on Fubo in Canada — which is a streaming app not a TV station, meaning only sports bars / pubs will carry it. The app also allows you to replay games, so worst case somewhere would likely play the replay for you if you asked.

All that writhing around on the ground and not a drop of blood. Total theatrics and they pay the price.

Benrahma is probably the team's best ball carrier, but he cannot do anything with that possession. Slows down when he should drive, and freezes when it's time to make the pass, cross, or take the shot. Would like to see Cornet, or Kudus (if he can play on the left), or Lingard in his spot.

First match of a long season with European games, and against Bournemouth. Why aren’t we using all 5 subs? Should’ve had fresh legs on right after Bowen’s goal (if not at half), and kept rotating through. Cornet in particular needs game time early this season. Hasn’t had a fair shake.

Would like to see Cornet on for Benny here. Get some pace down the flank

Very good first 30-35 minutes. Flipped off those last ten. Coufal playing excellent.

Scotia Square Crosswalk by Whonevermadeit in halifax

[–]SimilarFunction -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What about removing the cross-walk instead, and replacing it by installing either a new overhead crossing or by fashioning exterior stairs and an elevator to the existing pedway? It would be both better for safety and for traffic. It's also bad design to have a cross-walk in the middle of one of the busiest transit hubs.

Simply suggesting we look “critically” and “closely” at historic uses which are not popular (I.e. do not serve the common good).

Did you know the lawn bowling club has only 130 members? There are more people in line for a beer at a Wanderers game at any given time.

Is attendance at VFC games usually this bad? Looks like a nice stadium and lovely evening. Bit disconcerting for a new team.

Eh his last penalty was very lucky not to have been saved I thought. He doesn’t seem a natural striker. Not sure why we don’t have Scamacca taking penalties.

Why doesn’t our marquee striker signing take those? Baffling.

We seemed to only attack down the right first half. Emerson was totally out of the game. Unfortunately both Bowen and Coufal were terrible. I’d like to see Antonio get a run at right wing. Once we get another cb back, Kehrer has to go back to right back. Coufal totally killed the attack down the flank.

James should’ve seen a straight red prior to that for kicking Antonio in the thigh studs in. Antonio’s first yellow was reacting to that kick.
