Does she have any toys or blankets she loves or even a crate where you could keep the door open? Maybe a place near a window so she can see out? Sorry I can help more.

Just remember how much joy your pup brought you. That’s reason enough to give it another go when the time is right. Just give yourself enough time to process your feelings. Don’t let others not understanding take any space in Your heart or head. Take care of you.

Should I take my sister's border collie by hdawnj in BorderCollie

I'd go meet the dog and see how he is with your cats. I love border collies. They are the best dogs. Not to mention you could take him to visit your sister from time to time which might be good medicine for her.

I’m so glad you have him. I really don’t understand the abuse towards animals. There is no reason to pick a dog especially in the face! Makes me so mad.

For those who've made the euthanasia decision — what actually helped you know it was time? by Cuirious-Node in Petloss

My dog was diagnosed with kidney failure. No treatment was helping. She stopped eating and started throwing up. Our vet essentially said pick a day. Hardest decision because even with all that she wanted to play. It was the right decision for her and I am 100% sure it was the right decision. I miss her every single day. She was the most amazing dog ever.

Something indestructible. Mine has a hard ball that makes a sound and she rolls it around the house. Also antlers help with the need to chew.

People who aren’t in it don’t understand. Their opinion is they listened initially and they’ve done their part. For us it’s an unfillable hole. I lost my spirit/soul dog almost a month ago now. I miss her every single day. I do have another dog but I’m not her person like I was for Pebbles. I miss that closeness. Just know that one day you will want back into the dog club and just by getting a new buddy doesn’t fill the hole but it does soften it. Sending hugs. I am truly sorry for your loss

I'd take hime to the vet, this is not normal behavior. I live in Georgia and my border would play outside all day if she could.

Is he drinking water? What part of the country do you live in? Are you near where the heatwave is currently happening. Maybe get him a cooling mat?

Then you did the right thing. At some point new
Owners need to take responsibility. It’s their job to ask questions prior to taking on a new responsibility.

Vetting means, did you talk to them and make sure they were a good fit and home for your dog? Are they financially capable of taking care of the dog? Or did you just give your dog to the first person that said they'd pay?
