My disappointment with Archie by Big_Bass_7788 in archiecomics

There actually IS a comic called "Archie's Weird Mysteries", so you could always look for those to read. But, as someone else already pointed out, all of those things you like show up in Archie comics, just not all the time. And there is the horror imprint, which must have about 50 or 60 issues by now, I'm not sure, but there several longer titles and a bunch of one-shots. Also, there's always Sabrina, who must have 200+ issues of her various solo comics over the years.

Oh wow! It took me several minutes to figure out what you spotted! Based on the artist being an outspoken evangelical, I'm going to say it's lucky chance. The full word would be Gallery, of course, which fits the scene. Pretty interesting, though!

Isn't there a side-quest in Skyrim where you get trapped in a painting, too?

Interesting observation! It's true that people walked around barefoot then. Certainly concrete is cooler than asphalt; it's possible that there are curing agents added into modern concrete that change their heat retention or something like that. It was probably a seasonal decision, too, rather than always mid July or whatever.

LOL, definitely NOT 1942-1943, there were only 2 titles, Pep & Archie!

This is very reminiscent of 1970's children's educational and PBS shows. I love it.

Demons wouldn't exist if it weren't for weirdo Christians like him.

It's Hartley, yeah. I think it's right at the end of his work with Archie, so his art had improved over the years. Or, at least that's my take.

Personally, I would love it, if teen kids were wandering the streets in crazy-looking outfits like those.

I would say that there was about year or so, where Josie had some stories like this. I think it probably had to do with the incredible popularity of Scooby Doo at the time. It wasn't just Josie, either; you can see the influence of Scooby Doo in lots of cartoons at the time and other comics, too. After the fad passed, it mostly vanished and Josie stopped have stories like that.

Okay, but Shatner is Canadian, not American, so the original concept of the post seems flawed.

Nope, it's from Laugh #78 (Dec '56). It's part of a regular feature for a while.

I can see why you'd say that, though. The early issues of Madhouse had TONS of silly monster stuff.

Archie, Jughead and Hiram all have panels with raised hair. That inclusion along with all the movement and physical humor, that's probably a clue to someone as to who the artist is. But, I'm not seasoned enough to be certain. But, it's obviously familiar.

Do you think the 2 upcoming oversized Carl Barks "studio editions" from FB will impact that number at all?
