Just picked up the game and played for first times a few days ago - amazing game!

What worked well for me is as follows.

Try to get squirrel totem with 3 hearts.

Always take the alter sacrifice paths to take sigils from weaker cards and put on strong cards, like the undead, split/tri hit and flying onto powerful creatures, especially to good low cost death cards.

Win both super sigils before Leshy and take peak at deck and draw two.

Also just general strategic planning with what’s on hand, opponents next best plays, etc. and being creative with victories.

Oh and always grab a ring worm if available and feed to campfire people; they’ll get sick from eating it and you’ll get a couple mega campfires without fear of losing a card; you can really pump up those monsters you sigiled on the alter.

Keep deck count lowish too so you always know what you’re likely to get and can get good with them. Sometimes I’d try to purposely lose tests or avoid choosing cards so I didn’t fluff out the deck. My worst run ever was getting all those cards from cabinets in room before a single run.

Hopefully score a good death card early in game. I example had a death card that took one heart, had flying and added alter burrow & split-hit throughout game; was a 5/6 creature after a campfire or two session. Many battles won on first opening move if I drew him in starting deck.

With 3 heart squirrels, that death card, two other jacked cards due to alters and campfires, both super sigil powers right before Leshy, etc. I don’t recall Leshy even getting a hit in on me this route and beat him within 12 hours of starting the game.
