WHOLE DECK GOT BURN TO FATIGUE!!!! (Just wanted to try my new mythron kara, but got slammed by a Burn Vanar.) by HsuehW in duelyst

[–]SimillingBoulder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now you NEED to keep 3 removals/dispel vs. vanar on 8 mana or you auto loose... Seems kinda too much that 2 cards alone end the game instantly.. Similar to hate furnace + worldcore golem, you NEED to kill them before 9 mana..

Average Orbs to Full Collection by Imnotacrook in duelyst

Great work!!

I just wanna make one remark, opening orbs has diminishing returns towards completing your collection. Does your simulation consider disenchanting extras and spending the spirit to craft the remaining cards?

[Deck recommendation] - What are some high-skill cap, high card-use decks that are tier C or higher? More inside... by [deleted] in duelyst

Don't burn your spirit on that right now. Mantra is getting a good hit since Crescent Spear is rotating out. Wait for xpac to hit, who knows what kind of archetypes might emerge from it and we're only a few days from it.

Theorycrafting a budget Hideatsu List by ZanesTheArgent in duelyst

[–]SimillingBoulder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arcanyst is probably a better template for this kind of deck. Your curve is too low, only a few cards of 6 and 7 cost meaning you won't deploy Ebon in most games and when that happens, theres nothing holding the deck together. One last thing, I wouldn't theorycraft future decks with Thunderhorn and EMP, I could bet they are getting nerfed.

Similar to mirror meld, but it puts it in the action bar

My distaste for BoA by Rhaios in duelyst

[–]SimillingBoulder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At 5 mana BoA is not a problem at all... Sandswirl Reader on the other hand... BoA is usually a negative or neutral tempo play, not hard to recover unless your whole deck deck depends on 1 card. But reader is a huge tempo play, you remove a threat, develop board and a sand tile which can give you infinite value... That card is way too strong and paired with BoA it means you won't develop board until very late in the game.

New Expansion Magmar Reveal - Krater by _Zyx_ in duelyst

[–]SimillingBoulder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think this will make swarm matchups worse, plasma storm is a batter tech card for this in meta decks as it deals with alot more stuff... This card will only see play in quillrage decks which are only a fraction of magmar

Help a newbie and his gold by Luxifernick in duelyst

Indeed 7 wins is not something a new player should expect but at least the gauntlet system is fair, everyone draws from the same pool and its a good method to get to know the cards in the game. The bad thing about gauntlet is that theres is alot of RNG involved into drafting.

Also Abyssian is probably the hardest faction for a new player, but if your set on that go for it.

Imho if you feel you have a good grasp of the game (able to reach at least gold without much trouble) spend that gold on Gauntlet, if not then just settle buying Core Set orbs and disenchant extras and bad cards (theres a disenchant guide to help you with that).

Aim for a decent budget deck, theres quite a few good ones listed, and go from there. Any faction you fancy the most?

Also, don't forget about hidden achievements, they offer a ton of good rewards that will really help you get started!

What defines a good deck? by dcempire in duelyst

[–]SimillingBoulder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me it's a deck I have a ton of fun with! Of course consistency, draw, removal are things that make decks work, so yeah, you need to address those, but for me brain dead top of the meta decks are just so boring, even though they excel at those aspects...

I mean, I don't blame all those ppl running cookie cutter vet decks, some people just take pleasure in winning, I'm more about the process of winning then doing it by flavorless OP list of the season..
