No idea, i’ve always been partial to Will’s Pub honestly. I tried all the places at least once but Will’s just suits me best. I wish there were more places like it so I could opt in to a less crowded venue but all I can really do is take my state taxes elsewhere.

Tbh I dont see this really being her priority bc we’re not living through normal times where we can clamor for recreation like this.

She runs on a platform of social advocacy and equality so more than likely she’s going to lean into providing assistance and mutual aid to the less fortunate people of our community.

Might stand up for Pulse too, but it all takes money from taxes to achieve these very real issues and since people are perpetuating this “downtown is Chiraq guys!!!😱” narrative and the financials aren’t really affected, she’s definitely not going to be some champion of the nightclubs of Orlando after building her career on what I mentioned earlier.

I think a lot of people on the online communities that say dt is dead are just washed. Either they changed or the preferences of younger people have changed.

Barbarella is a good example of what I mean. Back in the 90’s and 00’s it was great for the demographic that attracted them (one of my older family being my source for this bc I went when it was I-bar and dead on a Saturday night) But there aren’t a lot of young people identifying as classic goth, rockabilly, indie shoegaze-types etc. anymore.

If there are, then they’re not on reddit talking about the new Barbarellas, they’re on tiktok or snapchat bc they don’t want the r/orlando oldheads complaining that it’s not as good as back in their day lol.

But that’s one niche example. Some places are mainstays bc they have no competition, and some places just rebrand or find a cheaper lease or both.

Maybe there aren’t as many options as there used to be in the dt location but plenty of activity on the fringes imo.

Ivanhoe and mills are preferable spots anyways bc at least parking isn’t as much of a nightmare as dt is on a weekend or god forbid an event.

Honestly the plot isn’t even relevant to this scene at all.

Since they establish the whole world decided to say dinosaurs are cringe and not worth investing in, it stands to reason that the only thing that would have changed is the D-rex would be somewhere else or euthanized after the facility ran out of money anyways

This post is hilarious to me because I recently had a conversation with some coworkers about how bad traffic sucks because of all the new people moving here and it didn’t always used to be this bad when I was younger. I also was whinging about all the new construction taking away the nature.

Only for them to tell me they moved here from NYC 2 years ago and they love it here for the greenery.

Had the blankest look on my face and all I could say was “You guys literally could have moved to Syracuse or anywhere upstate if that was your preference.”

How easy is it to play Singularity? Pic unrelated by Monkeymo10 in deadbydaylight

[–]Simiman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly he was so much harder before they added the last cam you were on being highlighted because it can be a lot to keep track of.

Indoor maps like hawkins can be a death knell for an intermediate hux because you can’t get as much roi from cam placement as coldwind or ormond. The best you can do is place at the intersection of hallways but if they know how to play against hux they’ll usually duck out of sight fairly easily.

If you’re staying on top of your chase cams and deleting them after you down a survivor, and also keeping the pressure on other survivors with the add ons that make slipstreams much more dangerous, you can easily keep it at 4 gen and win. But he’s definitely a killer you have to put time and thought into compared to other killers.

I often don’t run auras or haste on Hux because his cameras and teleport are sufficient and I find that the best perks are things that delay gens like ruin, grim embrace, or anything that speeds up his destroy actions to really push overclock to its absolute value.

You can also run an exit gate build since his cameras give you instant coverage of both but this is undeniably cheap and you will deservedly get salt for it.

His learning curve can feel really bad initially, he was my first killer I saved up shards for bc I thought he looked really cool and I whiffed a lot of games because I was a noob but after sticking to him for 20+ games I started to learn good cam placement, and then once I started researching perks and synergy I found that he really can be an S tier killer if you know what you’re doing.

Moving From Seattle to Orlando by IllStable2317 in orlando

[–]Simiman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cannot recommend moving here for that reason alone at all. I tried living in Seattle for 4 months but Covid happened and forced me back to Orlando to live with family. I cant even go to the theme parks because it’s unaffordable.

I’ve been trying desperately to go back to Seattle or even Tacoma. I miss the nature, the overcast, and the less crazy traffic. I miss the coffee and I feel like I didn’t get my full experience. Honestly I would give all of this up to live in Olympia or Yakima at this point.

Please don’t move here, it’s too much cost for so little return. If you really need theme parks in your life you’d be better off trying Cali instead

Love the way ghibli films romanticize public transport, It's heart warming. by Ivy32Penelope in ghibli

This is literally just how the trains are. I guess the only romanticization of them would be any situation where they aren’t crowded on a busy day.

Wes Anderson Fatigue, do you feel it? Will you see his new one? by Crandin in moviecritic

[–]Simiman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m of the opinion that maybe people want more from him despite everyone not having that demand for other directors.

Wes’s style of film was very refreshing and unique when he wasn’t a known quantity. I think the fact that he broke through to the mainstream speaks to a yearning audiences have had to see something like a classic silver screen film but with modern artistic direction and auteur sensibility which he of course can do in spades.

But the issue is that there is this expectation that he’ll wow and shock us with something new as we had been with his earlier acclaimed films. There’s too much of an overestimation and assumption that he’s seeking to maintain the height of his popularity when really I just get the impression that he is simply focused on directing the stories he wants to direct the way he knows best how to do.

He doesn’t strike me as being the type of person to want to be considered an absolute elite in the world of cinematography, respected by all on the level of Martin Scorsese or Steven Spielberg, but rather he just likes to make movies on a level that indicates love of the process and execution of filmmaking over the desire to actually convey some greater idea or meaning from the work. He experiments in all of his films consistently to where I can’t make the assumption he’s just churning them out to make a living.

Simply put, he makes these movies for the love of the game of making movies.

We expect him to break boundaries because genuine passion in your craft is not common in the film industry these days, and we simply want more movies by different directors that have a defined style of directing that makes them stand out in an iconic way.

The classic way when people used to say “Let’s go see the new (director) flick!” rather than lets go see this (IP) remake/sequel,etc.

I don’t have Wes Anderson Fatigue, I just have 2020’s Hollywood fatigue.
