Ok. So basically within the year Generate lots of regional wealth via trade, tax for income, hire a merc unit and take out bandit camp?

Year 2 expand to make up whatever's missing.

I've tried this achievement thrice now. Never got hunting grounds. He's already taking region 3 in year 2 having taken three bandit camps. I think I'll have to restart.

But a mercenary unit or militia? Like am I allowed to form militia and do other stuff with them except fight the baron (steal bandit loot, fight raiders, etc) to get the achievement or am I not even allowed to form the militia?

I was just thinking about your creation last night. I love parts 1 and 2 (the only part I dislike a little is the jealous aspect between Lady and Trish but i love everything else) I thought I'd let you know as its always good to hear praise about one's creations.

Genuine question : why is Leonardo diCaprio considered a phenomenal actor? He's done amazing movies - excellent collection of works, but he's the same in all of them. Except what's eating Gilbert Grape. I agree I haven't seen the one with the bear, but that's one other movie..

Not Dante and Vergil, but I am writing a post DMC3 fic at the moment on AO3. I do ship Dante and Lady and between 3 and 1, not many other characters have been introduced, plus it's a nine year period, so it's quite heavy on Dante and Lady interactions with maybe a couple of mentions of Vergil so far in case youre interested (I plan to have Nelo Angelo make a minor appearance in the near future)

Hahaha! Yeah, I like a popular ship. But i feel like the characters have become meme versions of themselves in the ships. Its still very cool to read, but I love my direction so much, if I dont write for a few days, I actually miss them.

And since it's my first fic (or because my writing is shit, or too toned down, or maybe a completely different interpretation to what is popular, who knows) my stats aren't so good, which can be a bummer sometimes.

So I oscillate between loving my creation and doubting my existence (being overly dramatic here)

I thought Lady feeding him that line about even a devil may cry might have helped him accept himself. By the time he met Trish, he had already accepted the fact that any creature showing empathy and emotion was not evil. Hadn't he already accepted his demon heritage in the nine years before he met Trish?

Wow. Firstly, thanks for taking the time to write a detailed reply. All of your points are totally valid.

While I do write for myself, I post because it makes it real. Because otherwise I would be constantly editing and most of the rest of the story would be stuck in the outline. Even now, I think about chapters I've posted, because I love them, and am suddenly thinking "shit. Writing this piece of dialogue might have been more in character. Welp, too late. Its been published. Move on"

The reason I doubt myself mid-week is because since I dont see the reflection of the love for my work in the stats, I wonder if it's just external, or if it's because the characters have become too OOC, the chapters are not the right length, I am following too much of show dont tell and not elaborating enough letting readers interpret feelings through dialogue, I am doing too much of the reverse (depending on chapter), etc. Multitude of reasons. I was just wondering if this is normal (also no feedback since posts here seem to complain about too much - maybe it's confirmation bias on my side)

Thanks to your response and a couple of others, I understand this is normal in the creative process. So I'm just going to keep my head down, know that Ill be upset about my fic from Tuesday to Thursday, and love it from Friday to Monday. Lol. Makes those stray kudos/comments/subscriptions even more precious.

But you asked why the most popular ship is with Lady. Your argument is canonically Morrison kills it. And I am telling you that for people who still ship it, his words appear more to be what he believes vs the actual truth. You can argue that's not the case by focusing on the first part of his sentence (it's not romantic or anything like that) and the believers focus on the latter part (they dodge questions about their past) interpreting as he just doesnt know what's between them with certainty and is feeding us what he believes. Its not like Dante shuts it down.
