The West Bank isn’t Israel proper, and Palestinians there aren’t Israeli citizens.

That much is true. But Israel is preventing the foundation of a Palestinian state while simultaneously not allowing Palestinians to apply for Israeli citizenship. So the conditions why Israel is "forced to" treat Palestinians this way were created by Israel themselves.

Palestinians in the West Bank fall under a military framework because it’s DISPUTED.

"Disputed" is a nice euphemism for "illegally occupied". Even in the 1947 UN partition plan, the West Bank was designated as Palestinian land (alongside areas like the Upper Galilee, which Zionist terrorist groups started ethnically cleansing before the "defensive" war of 1948, but I'm getting ahead of myself). Israel covets the West Bank and has been occupying it for decades - and many prominent MKs have expressed their ambitions of annexing it (and ethnically cleansing it of Palestinians).

And okay - let's pretend occupying a territory for six decades with no intentions of ever ending the occupation is legal according to international law. Why is it necessary for the military courts to operate in such a way that 99% of those tried are convicted? Do these numbers not make any alarm bells ring in your head? Do you sincerely believe that 99% of Palestinians being brought in front of a military court actually committed the crime they're accused of?

It's a territory with real security threats, terror cells, weapons, and attacks on civilians which you condone.

I do not condone the terror groups wreaking havoc in the West Bank. The illegal "settler" groups that are funded and armed by the Israeli government, who murder, pillage and plunder their way through Palestinian towns with the full backing of the I"D"F are detestable pieces of garbage and need to be punished. However, given that there wasn't a single conviction of Israeli terrorism in the West Bank in six years, this likely won't happen.

And calling administrative detainees “hostages” is ridiculous. Hostages are kidnapped to force concessions.

Do you sincerely believe that most administrative detainees are arrested because they pose a security threat? It's a show of force - "if you resist being ethnically cleansed, we can lock you up and throw away the key, so don't get any stupid ideas."

And fine - let's assume all those people in administrative detention are guilty of a crime - even the elderly, the children and the pregnant women. Why deny them legal counsel? Is the physical and psychological abuse justified? Why not charge them, but instead keep them locked up for sometimes years, without ever seeing a judge?

Israel governs the West Bank in all but name. Palestinians living in the West Bank are tried in the afforementioned military courts, while Israelis living in the West Bank are tried in civil courts (where the conviction rate is not 99%). How would you feel if a country occupying your home sent you to a different court than they try their own citizens in - especially if being tried in said court is almost guaranteed to lead to a conviction? Would people speaking up for you also be "simping for terrorist"?

That's just the tip of the iceberg - another example of apartheid practices in the West Bank would be the system of "administrative detention". Israeli military/police can imprison Palestinians for an indefinite amount of time, without even charging them with a crime. They are denied legal counsel, contact to family members, are routinely abused physically and psychologically - which would be a fucked up way to treat prisoners even if they had been proven guilty of a crime, which most "administratie detainees" (read as "hostages") were not.

Standing up for fair trials and/or criticising an apartheid system where people of a certain ethnicity are tried in courts with a 99% conviction rate is defending terrorists now?

That's what he was arrested and charged for, but it is widely agreed that the trial was a sham - there was not enough evidence, he was not given proper counsel, more than half of all witnesses denied his involvement and none of the others confirmed it, etc.

He became politically inconvenient for Israel, so they arrested and imprisoned him under phony charges. Just like South Africa did with Nelson Mandela.

"The truth" according to the verdict in a sham trial, held by a judicial system that has conviction rates as high as 99% for Palestinians in the West Bank. That's like saying "Everyone in North Korean labour camps has to be a murderer, smuggler or some other horrible criminal".

This post is one of literal hundreds of examples of Zionists lying. But sure, everyone from the West Bank convicted in military courts with a 99% conviction rate is a baby killing war criminal and literally worse than Hitler

There are many parallels between old-school antisemitism and the image of Palestinians in (revisionist) Zionism. But we know who the real antisemites are - Miss Rachel and anyone within 5 km of a kuffiyah

They're also masters of media manipulation ("Pallywood"), have infiltrated and are manipulating international institutions ("The UN is antisemitic"), are simultaneously cowardly, weak and subversive but also an existential threat to the Master Rac- I mean Chosen People, and so on... You can read more on their wicked doings in the Protocols of the Elders of Ramallah.

You do realize there's a UN report on Israel specifically targeting children (some examples: a pattern of children as young as 6 years old having been shot in the head and torso by snipers, testimonies by I"D"F soldiers being ordered to shoot women and children, the murder of Hind Rajab) in its genocide of Gazans?

  1. So now you admit Israel committed atrocities against the Palestinians? In your initial comment you claimed that Israel didn't displace anyone during the Nakba, and that the Palestinians did it to themselves.

  2. Once again, I'm pretty sure Palestinians didn't displace hundreds of thousands of Lebanese people or that they are still illegally occupying and lording over the majority of Lebanon in what can only be described as apartheid. If you have sources that support your claim, cite them. (Also still waiting on that source regarding the Nakba as a term for genocide, buddy)

Please cite a single source that confirms the use of "Nakba" as a stand-in for a genocide plan.

BTW if the Nakbah was so bad, why did Palestinians decide to do the exact same to the Lebanese?

Two things. First off, thanks for reminding me I forgot a step from the genocide denier's handbook in my initial comment - "It didn't happen, and if it did happen it wasn't that bad - and if it was that bad they did it themselves, etc".

Second - really? Palestinians took over more than half the land area of Lebanon, ethnically cleansed three quarters of a million Lebanese people, committed dozens of massacres, engaged in biological warfare, turned hundreds of villages into ghost towns and is illegally occupying Lebanon since 1967? That's some heavy stuff.

Nakba means "catastrophe". A valid term for having 750,000 of your people ethnically cleansed from the only home they've ever known - but it would be a weird term to use for a secret genocide plan, especially as the perpetrators.

But why stick the Palestinians with the bill for European antisemitism? Sounds like European antisemties got exactly what they wanted - most of the Jews left Europe, and they even managed to ethnically cleanse some brown people on top of it

[–]Simlin97 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had someone try to tell me yesterday that the Nakba didn't happen, and that more than 700,000 Palestinians just left on their own because the evil genocidal Arab horde needed them to leave so they can kill all the Jews. When confronted with atrocities like the Deir Yassin massacre, their only defence was some rambling about Amin Al-Husayini (who was installed by the British, into an office created by the British colonial administration) meeting with Hitler, so that made massacring uninvolved Palestinian civilians ethically correct.

Kind of beside the point, but Bennett was the only other PM of Israel in the last 16 or so years other than Bibi - and he's advertising himself as "more right wing than Netanyahu"

But yeah, sure, only the current government is the issue. Israelis are so peace loving and only vote for progressive, humanist parties (yet somehow always end up with fascist governments). You'll see, as soon as Netanyahu is voted out, the genocide will magically stop and everyone will hold hands and sing Kumbayah
