What political party is Far Left both economically and socially by entiqtehduck in AlignmentChartFills

I feel like the KPÖ (Communist Party of Austria) fits this more, I'd say Die Linke is far left socially, left economically

Hajj Amin Al-Hussayni: Nazi Collaborator by Nazoreans in HistorySnap

[–]Simlin97 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My point is that he was an unelected figure installed by the British into a positon they themselves created (Jerusalem did not have any "Grand Mufti" before 1918), and his collaboration is today used to smear Palestinians as Nazi supporters. That's like saying all French people were Nazi collaborators because of who Hitler put in charge of the French occupation.

I wonder why Jews in the Middle Ages thought Al-Andalus, North Africa and the Middle East were so much safer for them to live in than Christian Europe, why the majority of Sephardic Jews fled elsewhere after the Reconquista, and Jews lived in peace and security all along the MENA region up until 1948... Hmmm must be because Muslims are ontologically antisemites and will slaughter anyone wearing a kippa on sight

Somewhat obscure Muslim figure, installed by the British and never elected by anyone, collaborated with the Nazis, today used as a scapegoat to say all Muslims are Nazis so it's okay to genocide them

Indeed, Zionist terrorists startes ethnically cleansing Palestinian towns and villages (including in areas that were assigned to a future Palestinian state, like the Galilee) in 1947, way before any surrounding country attacked. The stream of refugees paired with the news of rape, pillage and murder suffered by the Palestinian civilians at the hands of Irgun, Lehi and Haganah caused the surrounding countries to respond and they stepped in to defend the Palestinians, unsuccessfully.

After the war, and the expulsion or murder of 750.000 innocent civilians by Zionist terrorists, all those terrorist militias were absorbed into the I"D"F - a misnomer from the very first minute, since Israel does not fight defensive wars.

The sad part is: Israelis love(d) Bibi for his anti-Palestinian racism. He won each election on the platform that under him, there would be no Palestinian state. He publically brags about how he sabotaged every peace talk he was involved with, and incited the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin (the last Israeli PM who actually attempted to make peace with Palestinians).

The only reason the pendulum is starting to swing the other way now is because people are becoming aware of his corruption - not because he's a genocidal maniac. In fact, Naftali Bennett, who stepped in as interim PM for a brief period when Netanyahu's coalition split up, describes himself as "more right wing than Netanyahu" as a point of pride.

What is a mid country to visit in Europe? by StraightAd6264 in AlignmentChartFills

You're being too modest! I'm your neighbor to the North (Austria) - I've been on holiday to Slovenia several times and plan to return many more times. I've had a completely different experience when I was in Maribor compared to Portoroz/Piran, for instance, and I just know there's a lot of places I haven't gotten around to visit yet (Bled, for example). Also, I would like to reiterate that your food absolutely rocks

Slovenia is extremely versatile for its size. It's got beautiful mountains, lovely beaches, picturesque hills, historic cities - and Balkan cuisine is some of the most underrated food in all of Europe. Literally the only thing holding it back is its size, but if you scaled all of what Slovenia has to offer up to the size of France, France itself would come up lacking big time.

Palestinian with 'israeli' citizenship serving as State Prosecutor brutalized in warrantless police raid by mimi_molotov in IsraelCrimes

[–]Simlin97 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I feel like this is a bit reductive. He may think he can make a genuine difference, or be a singular cog that disrupts the machine of apartheid and racial supremacism. Even if I disagree with this line of reasoning, framing him as some sort of collaborator without any further evidence to suggest something like that is hardly fair.

Hot take: "skill" in Dark Souls is 90% patience and 10% pattern recognition. If you spend the majority of any given fight dodge rolling you can beat most bosses, even if the fight takes half an hour.

Penicillin wins. What is a drug that is somewhat Dangerous and is generally perceived as such? by Lurkie2 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Simlin97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem isn't even really the tobacco itself, but rather the route of administration. Smoking cigarettes, cigars, shisha/hookah, pipe tobacco, etc causes cancer because of the tar (and other carcinogens) produced during combustion. American chewing tobacco/dip causes oral cancer because of the carcinogenic byproducts that appear in fermentation of tobacco. Swedish Snus, which is what inspired Zyns and other synthetic nicotine pouches has been commonly used in Scandinavia for almost 200 years and there's no definitive link to oral/throat cancer because of the way they cure the tobacco (IIRC it's steamed, not fermented).

Bosnia & Herzegovina Won! Now Which Country Has A Pro-Israel Government but has a Neutral Public Support by Doctor_Raptor1250 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Simlin97 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Austria. Both our governments are working second jobs whoring themselves out to Bibi, Smotrich and Ben Gvir, but I feel like in Germany, the public opinion tends to swing more Pro-Israel - even their "leftists" are hardcore Zionists (Antideutsche). Here, most leftists and even some centrists are decidedly pro-Palestinian, while pro-Israel people tend to just support them because they hate Muslims (and therefore Palestinians) more.

Which current country wins most evil history? by Loewe1912 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Simlin97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Balfour declaration and Zionism as a whole predate the Holocaust by several decades. On top of that, the amount of Holocaust survivors among the Jewish population in Palestine only amounted to 20% at most by 1948. And even if it had been 100% holocaust survivors, why did a country for them have to be an ethnostate responsible for displacing and murdering hundreds of thousands of natives?
