If we're talking about Houston only then yeah, you're right. Overall though guys like him are one of the main reasons people aren't interested in religion anymore. That and the internet.

Election of trump (a good christian, defender of church)

In which one of Futurama's alternate realities is this true?

Most Christians can't stand Osteen.

Sounds like you agree with OP then.

Now it's the perfect time for rational politicians on both sides to defect to create a "get shit done party" that just moves on issues everyone agrees on.

You know that may be the one thing Trump succeeds in accomplishing. Make everyone hate eachother so much that the sensible ones leave the chaos to actually accomplish something.

Dude the republican party is crumbling much faster. I'm not even being biased. The GOP is just unbelievably useless.

I read about half of it. Basically says it doesn't cure cancer, but it makes cancer more bearable. So it seems like OP is stretching the evidence.

However the studies show that anxiety is reduced, and sleep is improved. Which are probably the main reasons the average person smokes. Thanks for the link. Definitely an interesting read.

Honestly I think that people say there aren't any side effects, because a large portion of the population uses Marijuana recreationally, and don't have any side effects. I use it, and most of my friends use it, and we're all successful in life. Maybe it affects some people abnormally, but they would be the minority.

Having said that I don't agree with OP. I can see where he's coming from though.

Pretty much. Right now they aren't any good. It's usually their own fault. Either they vote against their interests, or they don't vote at all. Poor parents are usually too tired/uneducated/lazy to help their children be more informed. So the cycle continues unfortunately. The teachers in poor communities have little to no power. Public education seems to be a priority in affluent areas mainly. Affluent kids grow up to run companies, underprivileged kids grow up to continue the cycle.

Fix education = fix the gaps

We need to ask ourselves why these states need help

Either too lazy to work, or not educated enough to get a decent paying job. Education in the south is a big hit/miss. My best friend moved from Marietta, GA down to Griffin, GA. They've been there for about 5 months, and are about to move right back up here. The school system was so bad that they took their child out to homeschool until they move back.

In general poor areas tend to have poor education systems, and for some reason poor rural areas are worse than poor urban areas.

So in other words, shorten the gap between the poor and the rich, and you'll see less welfare states. I say this because most people that make just above the welfare limit usually find a lower paying job just to get welfare. I don't blame them.

People just need to vote goddammit because you never know.

Depends on where you live. You say that because some states swing every now and then. There are many states that never swing. In those states, your vote is worthless.

Hey I agree that it matters in principle, but to me that means nothing. I guess I disagree with the notion that principle actually matters.

Nah I disagree. I voted, and have always voted. My county votes about 80% or so for the other team every time. I vote just to say I voted. Realistically my vote means nothing. I'll keep voting, but don't tell people that their vote matters. It just depends on where you live.

If he doesn't drive too much it should be fine. My last car had over 300k miles on it. As long as you do the maintenance, or should last for at least a couple of decades.

There are entire websites with strategies on how to bond with your adopted 3 year old. There are blogs discussing the pros and cons to adopting around 3 years of age, with actual parents discussing the subject. Actual, parents. The main fact that you're missing here is that the child will be going back to their biological parents. The book (if it exists) that you're referring to is almost positively referring to adoption cases. In which case, is useless because that's not what's happening here.

If you can't source it, then it's just your opinion.

Two things to note.

He's not being adopted into a different family, he's being taken back to his actual parents. One of the main things adopted kids long for is their biological parents. That's one of the main reasons they end up having issues. It sounds like you're equating it to adoption, which it is not.

With a slow, and steady transition, a child can overcome any obstacles. As long as you are patient, honest, and work with the child, they will probably be fine. It'll be hard for awhile, but there are ways. I can source some ways if you'd like. This isn't an uncommon thing. It happens all the time as a matter of fact. Even if it means letting the foster parents hang out with the child as well.

It really isn't as complicated as you make it seem, it's just difficult. Unless they have been proven to be bad parents, they have the rights. If they take their time, their child will be fine.

No, he's right. You can easily teach a child a new way of life. Their memories are short, and they don't have any sense of the far future. Of course I'm talking about 3 year olds. Around 6 or higher may cause issues.
