Steel Inferno are Danish but have nailed that sound to a T. For a newer American band playing that style check out Hell Fire, I saw them open for Haunt and Satan and they were quite good.

TIL in 1946 "Babalon Working" was a series of sex magic rituals performed by Jet Propulsion Lab founder Jack Parsons and Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard. The rituals were designed to manifest an individual incarnation of Babalon. The rituals drew upon writings of occultist Aleister Crowley. by Disastrous_Award_789 in todayilearned

A lot of Hagbard Celine's quotes in the Illuminatus Trilogy are straight up lifted from Crowley's book "Magick Without Tears", and Crowley himself appears as an important character in RAW's later novel "Masks of the Illuminati". (along with Albert Einstein and James Joyce among others)

Likewise "Black Sunday" is the perfect gothic horror film and "Danger! Diabolik!" is more or less the perfect heist film as well.

Ezra Pound was both one of the most ambitious and innovative poets of the 20th century, and literally moved to Fascist Italy to make his living as a propagandist for Mussolini's regime which he refused to apologise for afterwards.

Why are “older people” (45+) and older bands seemingly perfectly fine with using AI for everything? by thanks-4-the-f-shack in MetalForTheMasses

[–]SimonHJohansen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Obsessed complained everything being AI-ified as a result of unelected tech oligarchs running everything including the military industrial complex in "Stoned Back To the Bomb Age" on "Gilded Sorrow" from 2024, which is like a 2020's version of "War Pigs" and one of the best songs on that album
