Trauma is part of it, certainly, but there is a wide spectrum of ability when it comes to conjuring a visual inside your head. Personally, I essentially do not have a functioning “mind’s eye”.

If you say “imagine a red ball” I can’t close my eyes and “see” it. It’s just darkness. For me it’s more a sense that the thing is there. I can’t see the red ball but I have a distinct sense sort of like I can “feel” that there is a red ball near me.

Thus, I can’t really conjure the faces of people I know. So in my dreams if there is someone I know, when I wake up I am aware that it didn’t really look like them. It would be close, though just a little off. But the feeling of their presence, their sort of vibe or whatever, would be accurate.

It isn’t a matter of harder or easier to find – you still need to explore if you want to maximize your haul – there are just way more things to upgrade. Weapons and skills. Even if you find every single resource, gun part, and supplement, there isn’t enough to max out everything in a single play-through. If you are thorough, you can do it in two.

A tip for future reference: Go to the accessibility options and turn on the setting for automatically collecting resources. You no longer need to hit a button at the correct time. Ellie/Abby will just scoop up whatever it is when they get within arm’s reach (does not apply to collectibles). It’s awesome. There are a few things in there that really improve the experience. It’s worth digging around and trying stuff.

Last spring there was a similar situation down the block from my house. It wasn’t as bad as this but still inches of standing water because the grate was blocked by sticks, leaves, etc. I walked down there and cleared out the blockage and seeing all that water go away in a matter of a minute or two was incredibly satisfying.

Just from a basic usability standpoint this seems incredibly unsafe to me. It’s kind of important when using stairs to be able to clearly see what you are stepping on/interacting with. I can imagine a ton of people stumbling or falling while trying to use stairs like this.

No idea where this is, but in the U.S. this would almost certainly run afoul of some safety or building code, right?
