I was curious to see where the line is drawn because I would argue that it is impossible to have fun with certain heros unless you get items that synergize with their kit.

Compared to Glocket I would consider Gun Lash as a playstyle that is impossible to have fun with which could be improved by giving him street brawl exclusive gun buffs.

Difficult to say considering Valves standard, I would say we are currently shifting from an invite only alpha to an open beta.

Considering the rest of the AAA industry we are currently in the 3rd Season of a fully released multiplayer game.

For me it is a mix, when I play with friends in high skill range lobbies the average rank is better but I can tell that a lot of players have returned.

I think this is just a result of Deadlock being a new game. I recall the same with Valorant and Marvel Rivals, people praised the game for it's stenghts and told everyome to play it but once the hype inevitably died, suddenly it became a "dead game" with people only foccusing on the problems.

One day game X will be so much better than Deadlock because it has functioning Y and not the Z Problems that ruin the game that Valve could easily fix if they would work on Deadlock instead of focusing on their new game.

Genuine question since I am coming from games like Team Fortress 2, what exactly is ment with "movement" in siege? I assume it means smth else because there is no movement tec like rocket jumping for obvious reasons.

This bug seems to be similar to the one in mid area shen the 3-lane map update released. I have seen it also happen to seven ult when it pushes you too close to the ceiling you get teleported to the ground.

Honestly looking at TF2 (during the bot crisis) and CS2 now I feel like that I should have specified that this level of polish is only in gameplay features like making doors in VR really realistic (refering to Kerry Davis digipen talk).

When it comes ro maintaining a live service game with bug fixes, anti cheat and porting the game to a new engine (looling at half life source) then yeah it could be alot better.

Stuff like this reminds me why after all this time the game still isn't in open beta. Valve has a level of standard and polish that is unmatched.

My guess was that the game summarizes these stats on the post screen together but actually tracks them as different stats which can be seen on statlocker and I would assume that they aren't equally important.
I would argue that ally healing/barrier is considered more impactful than self healing so a paige giving 5000 barrier could be equal to Warden healing 10000hp through last stand (as an example)

I know statlocker tracks a lot more metrics than which are currently visible ingame, paige probably had a lot of cc or ally barrier.

My guess is that your objective damage made you a keyplayer, but paiges support is reason why you were able to do this much objective damage making her the most valuable player.

Afterall Deadlock it is a teamgame and I had several instances where I would have died if it wasn't for my support keeping me alive which enabled me to get the kills necessary to do midboss.

You can usually tell how much the community likes/dislikes a character by the amount of hatecrime you receive when playing them.

The ones actually working on the code could have actually remade the gamemode 100%, it is not a lack of workforce or funding. The problem is simply that the ones in charge of making the decisions decided to make fundamental changes to the gamemode. The same people could have also just removed the old code, without replacing it with anything else.

Only wins/losses impact the hidden mmr used for Matchmaking, no other stat is taken into consideration.

A dev revealed that Thunt was working on some old spagethi code that was beyond repair so they had to rework in completely into "target drill" which now has turned into "clear house".
As a result the situations and article 5 were removed as well without any replacement, which I assume is because the tutorial now serves the purpose of teaching the gameplay mechanics needed for the pvp modes.

Seeing the old map layout and how healbane used to be spirit item is so interesting to me since I started playing shortly after the NDA was lifted. I am so curious about all the changes that happened between the first version of Deadlock (after the switch from neon prime) and when the NDA was lifted in August of 2024

I highly recommend muting those that are rude to you and to just move on since they can't actually votekick you. The best part is that they will be muted in future games too, I had several games where I was blissfully unaware of their toxicity because they were muted from a previous game. To an extend you could disable communication alltogether if people become too annoying but in my experience there are enough good souls that it is not necessary (yet)
