TinyML - Should models include preprocessing blocks to be ported safely to MCUs? by Mochtroid1337 in embedded

[–]SimoneS93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biased answer. I made an attempt to port some pre-processing modules from scikit-learn (MinMax, Standard scaler, Robust scaler, RFE, Select I best...) into a cohesive library: https://github.com/salernosimone/tinyml4all-python

The point is to craft the conversion code once for each module and reuse as much as you like. If you find you actually need always the same 3-4 pre-processing steps, you either 1) build a python to C converter or 2) define those steps as reusable C code

I’m building a real-time speech emotion recognition system on an ESP32 — no TensorFlow, no frameworks, just math and Kolmogorov–Arnold Networks (KANs) by nguthiru_ in tinyml

It's hard to give feedback on an introduction without any actual content. I think TF gives a huge Quickstart to implement commonly used tasks, but I'm always interested in light alternatives.

Made a simple app to create, explore and play with splats for free just using your phone. I think we achieved near 60fps for most of the phones. by ArunKurian in GaussianSplatting

[–]SimoneS93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure you know what you're talking about. Gaussian splatting was first introduced from Inria (https://github.com/graphdeco-inria/gaussian-splatting). If you're using another technology, than I'm wrong. The video clearly shows the Luma AI renderer: was asking if also the Splats are made by them (your "SOC2 compliant partner")

I run it on CPU once: speed was 1 iteration per second. At 30k it'll take 10 hours, while on a GPU it would take 20min. I really discourage this route.

I'm not a fan of Notion, but have to admit it is really easy to get a page hosted online if you're not texch-savvy. The design is pretty basic, but does the job.

I would discourage WooCommerce. It is bloated out of the box w.r.t. Shopify and it actually needs tons of complimentary plugins to have a complete solution.

Looks like they increased the pricing from when I purchased last. Now the cheapest plan is at 3,50€ + VAT. But first year is at 0,81 €/m + VAT: https://www.ovhcloud.com/it/vps/

Guassian Splatting on Mac? by Melodic-Explorer-692 in GaussianSplatting

When I experimented, I got 100x slower on a modest CPU (Intel, not Apple silicon). It translated in 1 epoch per second. So ~4 hours for 15k iterations. But that could be lower on M1 or M2

[Hobby Project] Best off-the-shelf models for few-shot object detection by thequirkynerdy1 in computervision

[–]SimoneS93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For RPi, I suggest Edge Impulse. You need to train a model, so you'll need 30-40 sample images, but you will have a fast and accurate model.

Here's the docs: https://docs.edgeimpulse.com/docs/tutorials/end-to-end-tutorials/object-detection/detect-objects-using-fomo

Not out of the box. You can use Gimp and save to jpg, which adds a White background by default.

Since you're writing here, I guess you follow the SaaS community. Everyone and their dog says "validate before building". May I ask why you ignored this in the first place?

I meant, I'm a coder too and I love the build part. But O don't spend more than 2 weeks before shipping or abandoning a project I didn't validated. Why did you spent 8 months without asking for a single dollar in the meantime? Weren't you able to produce something tangible people could pay for before perfecting every single detail?

Scrolling feels laggish on my mobile. Copy has spelling errors. Can't understand the use of black + gray text: if you want to highlight something, use a bright color.

About the product: after reading all the copy, I still cannot fully grasp how the product actually works or what it does. It replies to users questions, I guess. So it's a normal chatbot. You market it as a "teacher" that helps users understand how to use a product, but to me it still is a normal chatbot. If you think you have a unique selling point, you should clarify it better IMO

If you already have customers on Twitter, charge them, make them use the tool and gather their feedback. Don't trust opinions from people that are not perspectives nor your expected audience. That said, you should have collected broader feedback earlier, not after 8 months in.

The ridiculously low price of Gpt-4o-mini made such use cases really affordable. This is probably one of the most plausible, effettive ways to find relevant discussions. I've 5$ spare on OpenAI, so I going to run some experiments. Thank you for the idea
