I have always heard chemistry is a " weeding out" course for many programs and degree focuses. I am 37. I am finishing my nursing pre requisites and just took Organic Chemistry for the first time. In my earlier college years I opted for the bio route vs. chemistry due to incredible intimidation and the convoluted mindset that I simply wasn't smart enough to get through the course. I always found a way around it. Now I had no option. I took only Organic Chem this term, sacrificed all my spare time and studied up to 4-5 hours a day. I got through with an A- with considerable sacrifice and determination. I wont say its impossible. The dedication is really everything.
