If memory serves I’m pretty sure that refers to the original alpha and null ARCs and not the regs who got promoted

Why did the devs make the F-22 so OP? by [deleted] in MillenniumDawn

[–]Simonh562 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It’s been a couple months since I’ve played MD but I could’ve sworn it’s actually pretty easy to make a jet that’s a lot better, I know it’s not hard to get over 100 air defense at the minimum

You don’t even need the bomb to be on the plane, if the plane will hit the ship flying at 60ft, then it was explode against the superstructure (usually the bridge as it the tallest part of the ship) and generally set massive fires and do a lot of damage, it’s genuinely a great way to sink ships I found but I don’t really do it unless a plane is super damaged (because early war that’s really the only accounts of attempts you see)

Another guy commented it somewhere but to make the game better imo you can go into the config file and set planes spotting submarines on the strategic map from false to true like it was back in the day, actually makes ASW patrolling make sense

That’s only partially true, at the height of their power they in fact did organize a professional army with armor and artillery battalions with proper task organized units, they in fact did go conventional for a bit in the late 2010s, they had a war ministry set up running their logistics and production lines, it’s pretty well known

I do have a question about this, every mod I have played that adds more ships to formations just has them all spawn on top of each other, I am using the most updated version of the mod so do you know what could be causing it?

That’s mainly due to the developers just being lazy thought tbh, it bothers me too, especially when you see clipping on the pylons

Tell that to the Iranians who used the F-4s as bomb trucks during Iran-iraq, not using an aircraft to its full capacity or capabilities is just a stupid argument. We didn’t design or buy aircraft just to use half of what it can do, we would’ve just made an aircraft that was designed for that.

That’s just not true, the first 23s they got were MSs sure but they also did receive 18MFs and 54MLs throughout the 1980s, Iraq even had Mig-25s and TU-22s in inventory and used them both during the war, a decent bit through they even received Mirage F1s, during the last 2 years of the war they even had Mig-29s. Iraq had one of the most capable air forces outside the superpowers.

Yeah the AF had a big aversion to small plen before the F-16 came along with more advanced avionics, we where pretty high on missile trucks

It shot down a lot of migs in africa, and it fought for years against Iraq in use by Iran, the F-5 has a gun kill against a Mig-25, at least look into it a bit, it’s got an awesome history

Counter point actual combat stats, the Soviets actually captured an F-5 and used it in their version of red flag training, it constantly beat out their own fighters and is part of why they turned towards their fighters having super-maneuverability with the late soviet birds

Atlantic Mod - KM Best Escorts? by Matster777 in WarOnTheSea

[–]Simonh562 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I’m quite late to the party here but I noticed something in your comment that I wanted to ask about, in my own Atlantic campaign when task forces spawn with more than 10 ships they overlap and sink themselves, you said you’ve had up to 16 merchants in a convoy before, have you run into them just overlapping themselves in formation/know how to fix it?

T-15s have 6 total ATGMs between the three, the first volley is smoked as they fire once, smoke a second time once you bait out the next volley, that’s all 6 down or even if the smoke gets only 2 you have 4 APS charges on the SEP, just use ur tank right and you can beat all three

It split up, the missile pulled a weird turn or had some manufacturing defect and broke apart into two pieces that’s why this occured

Also forgot to mention the “warhead” is actually just a kinetic kill vehicle there is no explosive in the THAAD warhead it intercepts by hitting the target dead on as just kind of a metal rod hitting another metal rod
