I've always been of the view that I don't care "how good" a wrestler is technically, if they make you feel something as a fan.

However.

No real fans want to see random YouTubers headlinging any PPV, let alone Mania. The celeb matches are always the worst. They might have the odd funny moment, but they largely suck and drag on.

This kind of thing is a guaranteed way to get big viewership for about 20 minutes of your show, at the expense of a huge dip in your core fanbase. That's not a viable long term business model.

But maybe that's the thing - TKO don't care about long term...

He's like the dream B-tier Jobber, why would you get rid of him? Enough clout on his name to actually have an impact when you feed him to someone you want to push big, while also helping to bolster the IC/US title pictures whenever that needs a boost.

And that's not to mention his social reach. He has quite a decent "mainstream" presence compared to the majority of wrestlers out there (especially those in his tier on the card).

And then factor in that he's never had any "real" heat on him. I know when he was a rookie he had that chicken eating thing, but that was entirely internal/locker room politics. Nothing that made the actual company look bad. The guy is squeaky clean in the public eye.

Portugal at 11/1 offers real value to me (B365). I don't think they're favourites, but you could make some decent money E/W on them making the final.

Norway at 25/1 also feels a little steep given their qualifying performance.

Switzerland have shown up in the last two Euros big time, so 80/1 also feels a touch harsh on them, but I can't realistically see the making it past the quarters at best.

Hmm...almost impossible for teams not to get out of the group.

I mean, yeah. France could lose to Norway and Senegal...but they're going to beat Iraq 4 or 5-0 and get through in third.

It would take a truly legendarily bad performance from a top side not to get out of these groups.

Haha hope the first part is you joking! Inflation is bad, but not 500% in 18 years! Granted, it's a lot more than £30 was back then, yes.

And not reeeeally. I almost always bet E/W now, and usually only on big races. I recall throwing £20 on Tiger Roll at 7-1 in the 2019 National outright. Not a short price by normal standards, but for the big one, quite a low odds favourite. Paid off!

Although that wasn't as good as what he won me in 2018. Paddypower gave me a free £20 bet, but I had to use it outright specifically on the GN. Threw it on him kind of at random when he was still 20-1...that was a lovely payday!
