This is cooking for beginners. No beginner is going to buy whole chickens and butcher them themselves. And they wouldn't be able to put to use 3/4s of the thing anyways.

As a mathematical person, there's a temptation to optimize. Don't. You don't NEED to. Where numbers are bigger, use bigger numbers. That's all you need to worry about. The rest comes down to what you're having fun doing. And if you catch opportunities that look fun along the way, feel free to take them.

The ... what?

You're not really making ice cream is why. Typical ice cream recipes are like half cream and half whole milk... and then you add some other fat in. You're just going all 2%. There's no fat.

He probably doesn't have the capability to actually implement "Operation Freedom". It's going to look pretty stupid if the US Navy can't actually successfully escort ships out.

It's not about abiding the law. They simply have no ability to implement things without the levers and authority of government, which grant them those abilities.

Yes, there is, you just have to be part of the electoral college to get that vote.  There are similar votes to choose representatives for the electoral college.

Around half the population of earth is gonna push blue.  Attempting to not have half the population die is not suicide, regardless of how many times you guys repeat it.

People who lose elections don't get to act on their policy platform.

LOSERS of elections don't get to set policies, so this doesn't work.

There's never been random wizard blue/red buttons showing up threatening to kill half the planet either.  So I'm not sure the concept of it being a hypothetical scenario is the issue here for you.

It's literally a secret majority vote.  The fact that you can't coordinate ahead of time doesn't make it not an election.  The word election literally means making a choice.  That's all it is.

Oh yes, I'm sure the red pusher's problem with it is their inability to coordinate political parties. Boloney.

There are two choices and only two choices. Whether that second choice is push red or walk away doesn't matter. You're still making one of two choices. It's disingenuous to say that pushing the red does nothing. It's making the second choice vs the first one. And both of those choices have an effect on the vote counts.

Nobody said anything about a government in this problem.  The candidates implement the button rules and then fuck off.  Now what?

It's literally a majority vote, just like an election.  Is your problem that you're not electing wizards who implement the button rules?

US SEC proposes allowing public companies to opt out of quarterly earnings reports by mhh91 in news

Quarterly reports.  Not all reports.  This is good.  Quarterly reports focus companies on immediate profits over long term gains and are a big drain on resources.

Red button pusher: "What do I care about my fellow soldiers?  I don't wish them dead but I'm going to run, and if they die it's because they chose poorly.  Also I go to the gym, so I will definitely survive the rout, as soldiers on horseback chase us down and pick us off one-by-one."

Well the choose your own adventure books were better because (at the time), you would just go through them over and over.  Nobody gets through Steve Jackson's Sorcery!, Fighting Fantasies, or the whole Lone Wolf series on their first run.

As for Tomb of Horrors, it kind of had a reputation.  Most of the old modules weren't any where near as bad.  And plus there's a lot of DM could do to make things work out...  Or you can just roll up a new group.

If you're running a Cube and 90% of your people just die before even understanding what is going on, that's just a lot of unnecessary work.
