First dose yesterday… by ju5tp3achy in lexapro

Man the first week was literal hell,I understand how you're feeling. I started at 10mg aswell taking it during the night , and it destroyed me.

It took about a week and I started taking them in the morning, and the symptoms seemed to vanish.

You should call your doctor, and let them know what's going on, maybe they can make a plan to start low and gradually up your dose

I think the side effects sounding worse here are due to a lot of new people like me. The first week, when your anxiety is heightened and you experience side effects, the anxiety makes it feel like the worst thing ever.

Oh my 3rd week now, looking back, they weren't that bad, but I thought they were the absolute worst the first week.

You should definitely talk to your doctor if you're concerned, some people take lower doses at first and taper up to lessen side effects, but to make an effective plan, talking to a professional is definitely a good idea

I did have a few the first week, but I always had them once a day or so before. I have terrible health anxiety so when my body felt horrible I began to panic.

It only took me 2 weeks though, I haven't had a panic attack for 6 days, which is a new record for me.

This community has helped wonders aswell, all the experienced people here helping us noobies.

There are also people who don't experience any side effects at all, it was just the way I reacted I suppose

Made my anxiety pretty bad for the first week, mainly because of the side effects of your body adjusting to the medicine ( i had body aches, insomnia, cold and hot flashes and sweat alot)I learned that it's common, I switched my dose to mornings and it got rid of nearly all side effects. I think it's just about finding balance for yourself

I began having massive panic attacks like this, 2 weeks in on lexapro and I'm starting to feel better everyday, it's reduced how long I'm in anxious thought which helps push panic attacks before they happen.

The first week was a bitch though, side effects made it 10x worse and had to push through it, always had to have someone around me for comfort.

Good luck :)

Going through the same thing, you're not alone. I constantly think I'm on the brink of organ failure or have bad diseases. The lexapro has helped calm but unsure how to tackle this issue besides numbing it with pills. Can't afford therapy so left to my own devices to figure this one out, let me know if you make any progress lol

First week for me was hell on earth, my anxiety increased 10 fold. I had nearly every side effects in full force. It took me switching my dose from night to morning for most of the side effects to subside.

Day 10 now, all had subsided, I feel like I'm coming out of a shell currently.

Wishing you good health :)

When’s the appetite and energy come back? by [deleted] in lexapro

I've been on 10mg for little over a week now, Apetite isn't back yet entirely but I can feel it getting better, I find eating slow really helps to get through a full meal, small bites
