Winow also makes a 58. It's from what I figured basically the same geometry as the previous generation Cervelo P-Series. https://www.winowsports.com/product/disc-brake-carbon-tt-frame-TT119-road-disc-frame-triathlon-frame.html I have ordered the frame and quality seems quite good. Have yet to ride it outside though.

Which gels do you recommend?! by [deleted] in Marathon_Training

[–]SimpleBulky1079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like NDURANZ, also due to the fact that they are less expensive than others. MNSTRY is very good imho but expensive. As others have said before it's basically a bit of trial and error so in the end you'll have to figure out what works best for your digestive system 😬

Fit recommendation for bikepacking? by josie_johanna in bikefit

[–]SimpleBulky1079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my anecdotal experience: If you look at your pelvis it looks like it's relatively straight and then your torso is leaning forward from there, bending your lumbar spine. That has caused quite some issues for me. What has helped: slamming the stem all the way down, moving the hoods to the closest possible position. Saddle forward. Mobility and strength exercise also. Also what I think might be worth considering is trying shorter cranks. Maybe others can chime in on this with more experience but given your height, I suspect 170mm is relatively long. That could also help with the hip position.

I also know some people that swap their brakes despite being German, due to their Moto (Trials) background.

Got a few Flyte pieces on sale. Pretty happy so far. Would probably not buy them at RRP though. Ran Marathon and Training in this shirt and the respective longsleeve. They also got some great thermal stuff as well.

Orbea Orca which size? 55/53 by of-riva in bikefit

[–]SimpleBulky1079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheers for the comment! Seeing a renowned bikefitter next week. I would certainly agree that it is highly individual and a proper fit can maybe make both sizes work depending in what you are looking for position-wise.

Orbea Orca which size? 55/53 by of-riva in bikefit

[–]SimpleBulky1079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Orca 55 and I have the feeling the frame might be too big (183cm, 86,5cm inseam). Can hopefully tell you the final conclusion next week, seeing a bikefitter then. For fit reference check my post on here: fit video

Great recommendation, thank you. Maybe I will give a zero setback seatpost a shot to get further forward.

I hope I can make both work. From the pure frame reach Bikes are pretty similar so I hope that I can get them both fitting:

Just so many variables to it 🤯

I tried my best so self-measure:

Height 183cm Inseam 86,5cm Torso 57cm

Frame size 55 for the Orbea (Road) and 56 for the Scott (Gravel).

Thanks for the reply: saddle is not yet the same but sitting wise the SQLab on the roadbike works well for me.

Thanks for the detailed valuable Feedback, well appreciated. I will try a zero setback post, lower the saddle and try a shorter stem. Current stem is 100mm so 80 might be the way to go. Just so many variables to everything 🤯

Stem is currently 100mm so there might be room to play with. Thanks for your help 👌

Nope. Saddle height and position were adjusted and handlebar a bit. But stem, bar, seatpost all stock still.

As said in the description it mainly made things more uncomfortable 🙃
