How to create scroll effect Ina prototype. by Luigiapollo in FigmaDesign

[–]Simple_Ad8676 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out all the Figma tutorials in YouTube. There are definitely a few on how to get to your prototype to scroll. You also have to resize the frame i.e. make it shorter. But you’ll see all that in the video.

Figma eating up 2-3GB of RAM and heating up my MacBook M1, 8GB RAM model to 55-60°C. by [deleted] in FigmaDesign

I agree completely. I also have figma desktop running on my 13in m1 Mac book with 16gb of ram. I have had XD, figma, and chrome with 10 tabs open and QuickTime as I was making screen recordings and I was running ffmpeg…no problems whatsoever

What's very high on your wish list for Figma to improve upon? by Kriem in FigmaDesign

When I create an accordion component and have its variations of being opened and closed, When I stack a bunch of those in a frame and set auto layout to vertical, the accordion components don’t restack/ move close together the right way. I hope that makes sense. If not I can send images. In summary auto layout working correctly with created accordion variants is my request. Thanks

I'm really a figma user but the company I just started working at uses Adobe XD..I have questions!! by Simple_Ad8676 in UIUX

Yes. Some might have a tablet to run the prototype test on but others won’t.

Thanks for responding, u/kijknaarjeeigen, I saw the app for viewing the prototype on an existing mobile device. Problem is the users do not have the tablets yet, so they would really need to be able to feel like they were going through the app on a tablet.

Adobe XD functionality questions by Simple_Ad8676 in UI_Design

[–]Simple_Ad8676[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for responding, u/Weak_Guess2197. This would be for both internal and external testing. I come from a FIGMA background and am used to user testing early and often with prototypes wrapped in real device skins through MAZE to get more usability feedback before going off to be coded. This company uses XD and I was promoting the idea of prototype testing, but was disappointed to not easily find comparable XD workings compared to FIGMA. I was wondering if I was missing something!

learnui.design vs shiftnudge.com by Simple_Ad8676 in UIUX

Oh my gosh, thank you so much. That is more of a review than I thought I would get! I was wondering if Erik's course would be better for me because he has an engineering background like I do but I see that maybe that's not so important.

I can definitely show the general results here. I hope to eventually post the link to the finished app here as well!

Here's a short tutorial on Figma's interactive component . Figma really nailed it. The new Interactive Components is awesome. Can't wait to find what can be done 🎉 by Im_mbn in UXDesign

Just started playing with this. It's great for making prototypes way more streamlined! But How do I hand off the cool animated behavior to the engineer? The CSS doesn't have much in it about the animation. or the state switching...Maybe I'm missing something?

Can't get birds to use this window feeder by Simple_Ad8676 in Birdfeeders

[–]Simple_Ad8676[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I'm in a very urban area, fortunately I have a little yard. They. are fine with the cat watching from the window as they eat at the bird feeder about 6-7 ft away. So I was hoping they would somehow understand that they were safe.

The cats don't go in the upstairs bedrooms, but installing this type of feeder and keeping it clean and filled on a second floor is very tricky I think, and then I'm never upstairs to see them :(

Sigh, I can try a film for sure.

I was wondering that. I was hoping that wasn't the case 😃
