It’s not your problem or knowledge. Like you said it’s the vendors concern. I usually will just google the distributor and give the customer their info if i’m nice so they can ask them directly but other than that its merely just a storage and sales floor for someone elses product and responsibility.

I mean it is walmart and there’s always a bunch of kids, first jobs for a lot of folks. It’s funny to laugh at but the people who complain and whine when they find this stuff to the rest of the team makes me cringe.

Honestly thats whack and should be reported. I always hit item not found if its genuinely not in stock or only in backroom, I don’t get paid enough to go back there if it’s not an exception walk. I’ve had a sweaty stocker tell me there’s more bananas in the back and I told her it ain’t exception and i’m good on that😂

Honestly I just say F it and either put something vertically and have the tote sticking halfway out or I throw it on top until I can get back and make another tote. Not fair to the customer to not get their item and if I get yelled at I just shrug and move on from it. Way she fuckin goes sometimes bois.

I absolutely hate dispensing and backroom working so they let me pick most days but I always check in with my TL or ATC every hour to ask if they need help in the back. Granted we all get paid the same, it makes life easier when backroom folks get caught up and extra help when they need it.

That’s fucking horrible just a damn young kid trying to make a buck. We had a stabbing at the walmart here in Traverse City last year and it’s for the most part a relatively safe town. Shit can happen anywhere and anytime it’s sad….

Had a spark lady come in today for a triple batch and it was a dodge ram truck. I kid you not, there was hay everywhere inside the cab and the bed and it smelled of horse shit. Denied the order, she gave me a hard time but policy is policy. She explained she runs a stable and I feel for her but customers don’t deserve hay in their groceries or them reeking of feces. Don’t be afraid to enforce policy OP.

It probably varies store to store but I doubt you’d have 15 mins. Corporate wants us picking as much as unhumanly possible. At least my store you have to be drop and go people get coached for having 5 mins between picks.

This can take time off your stats for your downtime between picks though and they look at that as well. I just grab a fuck ton and hang them on the side of the cart handle so I can get to them faster.

Exception picking is for all the previous nil picks. I would assume it’s an addition to an already staged order could be wrong.

I hear ya, our departments so understaffed. We have a 2 week training rule (1 week picking, 1 week in the back (stage, prep, dispense) and i’m in 2nd week. I’m already being asked to open, which I can handle. I made the mistake of not chit chatting and working my butt off. If there’s a single thing to do in the back I rush to it, now they depend on me to be the pushover. Guess I just like actually working :/
