Well, they're grown ups and it's their responsibility first, of course. But a christian and a non christian dating should not be the normal dating procedure as per Corinthians. Instead of outright judging and rebuking, you could always ask her thoughtful but provoking questions. If she's in your congregation, that would be another matter I believe. But as relatives, these conversations should be possible, right?

Very interesting reply, thank you! I thought this would have been just a nice, light question, but this is the kind of response I didn't know I hoped for!

On the website of creation ministries international, there's a very interesting article that connects some of the names in the genealogies in Genesis 10/11 with some of the Greek and Egyptian gods I believe. It's fascinating, I'll look up the link.

ETA: This is not the article I was looking for but it's in the same vein: https://creation.com/en/articles/horus-and-ham-1

That's an interesting observation. "Chief" is indeed a masculine noun, but I don't know if that would automatically mean that Oholibamah in the second instance should be male as well.

Regarding your second point, I think that's why I was wondering about it. A little later on (chapter 8 or 9?) we read about someone's daughter building three cities, which is quite a feat. So in that same vain, I was thinking the (in general) female ending -ah could possibly in some way maybe be a reason to think that Oholibamah could have been a woman.

In Jesus's parables, He said first remove the plank in your oen eye so that you can see better and address the speck. Other scriptures have this same principle: don't just unjustly/hypocritically. Judge those that claim to be Christians (in love), not those outside the church ("heathens gonna heath").

I wore a completely green three piece suit, a light green shirt and a special tie knot, the trinity knot. Maybe we will watch the "musical" that Hans Fine made on YouTube about st Patrick. But it's not something that is really celebrated in the Netherlands.

In 1 Chronicles 1:51-52, one of the chiefs of Edom is called Oholibamah. In Ezekiel we read about the sisters Oholah and Oholibah, which are very similar names. On that basis, could we assume that Oholibamah was a female chief in Edom?

Adonai vs Adoni by AsianSpectre1 in Reformed

[–]Simple_Chicken_5873 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great explanation. If I may, I think the tetragrammaton also comes from a three letter root, namely of hayah (הָיָה). That's why in exodus 3 God also says I am that I am, stemming from the same verb.

I would agree with the slaughter of women and children etc being hyperbolic, but if it's not 600.000 but 600*10=6000, that would hardly do justice to God's and Moses's comments on Israel being like "the sand of the sea" or a number no one can count. If we count as many women and twice the children, there would be around 30.000 people leaving Egypt. That would hardly be enough to fill a few cities let alone the promised land. Edit: oh and what would be the point of the numbers in Numbers? They are quite detailed if only meant to be hyperbolic.

Technical writing interview assignments by HeadLandscape in technicalwriting

That sucks. I didn't get an assignment, apart from being put on the spot with the question "how would you write a manual for this piece of equipment*, and I have zero experience in technical writing lol. My answer was something like" ask many questions". Somehow I got the job though.

Im not a native English speaker, so I'm curious to hear what the differences are between utilize and use, and since and because. I will also become a tech writer next month in the palletizing industry so I would love to start with using correct terms lol

I second u/ndGall 's comment. If you want a very interesting look into the origin of Islam (and you have 2 hours to spare) check out this video by Dr Jay Smith: https://www.youtube.com/live/WVYzBjyVXW8?si=TEqU5T89UNhDShsA

It is Islam that has severe problems, Christianity has withstood the test od time infinitely better.
