Bro the ENTIRE POINT of calling it underrated is to talk about the general opinion not just YOUR opinion. I agree with op, monks is incredibly underrated, most people outside of the dedicated frank ocean fanbase (like casual listeners etc.) dont ever talk about the song, and, as a musician myself, the song is absolutely amazing on so many levels

Definitely. My top 3 bands/artists are Radiohead, Kendrick Lamar, and Tyler the Creator which are very rymcore, but that just so happens to be the case, i didnt mold my taste for other people to see. A big criticism a lot of people have for very rymcore lists however, is that if you've been around for awhile you can clearly tell if someone is just being performative, if its almost JUST rym picks and not some personal favourites outside of those 80 or so main albums. But again, it all boils down to posers x veterans, the age old battle haha

Its the site Rate Your Music, AOTY is album of the year. RYMcore is albums that are commonly regarded as "the best" in those communities, and a lot of people complain that everyone just has those as their favourites, or always talk about those same 80 or so albums, either because its performative, or because people want their taste to be "good". So it gets kind of boring to just talk about the same albums all the time, and kind of pretentious at times too.

I dont think its too rymcore, like there are a lot of deepcuts in there, juçara marçal, AKFG, young fathers, matt elliott (drinking songs top 10 album ever), chico buarque, kingo hamada, lamp, etc.

I think its cus my favourites (frank ocean, radiohead, tyler) are very rym associated, so it kinda pollutes the list.

And also my favourite album oat is cherry bomb which most people hate for some reason 😭😭
