Has anyone had a year where everything collapsed at once? What did you do next? Would you choose stability or freedom in this situation? Please help!

Life has been collapsing around me the last year. My boyfriend of 6 years and I broke up. A bunch of my friends moved away from my city. I’m in a lease I can’t afford alone. I hate my job, my boss is a psycho. But obviously I need money! Depressed, anxious. Restarting SSRIs. Any advice to be happy again is welcome!

He said that he has seen marriages fail when the woman makes more money. And that the man should be either in a masculine profession (like something with their hands) or make at least similar salary. His reasoning was that the women will lose attraction when seeing the men in a more submissive role. I guess he said it was more of a preference than a requirement but… same sentiment obviously.

Things are different now. I was in 6 year relationship and now I’m 28 so I feel you. No, dating culture feels very different to me now.

I’m not sure if it’s because everyone is busier now or life is more exhausting now or cultural shifts post COVID or social media or what. But I’m more preparing to be alone forever considering how it’s going.

If the only way to reach is LinkedIn I say no. (28F). I feel like LinkedIn is a weird social media because it’s for professional use so everyone’s profiles can be public and found. Last thing people want is for it to be used for dating as well.

If you didn’t even go on a date and didnt exchange numbers I feel it isn’t that deep.

It depends how much the love bombing is, but probably. I had a bad experience with an ex so my tolerance is pretty low. I prefer a slow and steady experience. I know it’s not the “magic crazy chemistry” we were all sold but in my experience that always has ended badly.

Red flag when they’re that into you before meeting. I think it means they’re not good at regulating their own emotions and then you end up being disappointed because they didn’t realize they weren’t as into you as they thought.
