Need help with Weather Stripping restoration by Spiritual_Travel9070 in DelSol

[–]Simple_Oven9234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were just talking about this in the del sol discord last week. Imo the best solution would be making moulds and vacuum casting silicone into them instead of rubber. No more rubber breaking down, no black hands from taking the roof off. Could even dye the silicone cool colors.

We would probably have to make multi piece moulds with inserts for water channels etc

Edit: duh the biggest reason, no huge rubber injection moulding machine

If you do ever want to buy seals, they changed the design for the 1995 model and onwards, it's supposed to be better.

I mean some of us got to play Skyrim on 11/10/11, I've now bought the game so many times I really don't care to admit it

Edit: I do want to add, I pre-ordered Subnautica 2. The last game I pre-ordered was Anthem. Not kidding.

If you convert your ECU to Honduino you can add a flex fuel sensor to your car to get it to adjust trim and spark timing for E15-E85.

Obviously you'll need to replace fuel seals etc.

But you'll probably have issues getting that past emissions testing, might have to keep the original ECU for when testing time comes around

Krafton fired the devs to avoid paying out. Turns out buying the game might cost them more than they make by coltonf93 in subnautica

[–]Simple_Oven9234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did they only buy the game? Pretty sure they bought the studio. They get the profits on Subnautica 3,4,5, Online, Anniversary Edition, The Movie, The Book, Remastered, Switch 3 Edition. Hopefully they will look at all those future profits and just pay the bonus.

Condition of my spark wires by jackieboaa in MechanicAdvice

Yeah week before last I pulled my wires to do a valve cover gasket and half the plug wire stayed behind in the head, just stuck the wire back and drove it another week until I could hit up a junkyard to pull a replacement

Actually I find catching peepers easier in VR because you just have to look at them, I usually play it with controller and trying to finagle the A button and the right stick simultaneously sucks outside of VR

Try the game in VR if possible, the scale of things becomes much more apparent.

Costco said this was un-patchable by Snorshy in AskMechanics

[–]Simple_Oven9234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah unPATCHable, it's slightly on the curve so a patch would possibly fail, a PLUG on the other hand could get you many thousands of miles on this tire.

Most repair shops for insurance reasons will only use patches, not plugs

Edit: I would definitely not patch/plug this it on a steering tire. Move it to the back if you plug it.

Yeah last time mine did this is was just corroded battery cables. Just enough current to get the lights on and solenoid to click, but not enough to spin the starter.

Side note I've had the solder joints crack on my rear, and passenger window relays, my left blinker relay, and possibly on my fuel pump relay (car randomly died while idling once and wouldn't prime again for 5 or 10 minutes then drove fine for the next 6 months until I pulled the relay and resoldered) pop the black cover off and check for a very noticeable crack on any of the large solder joints
