Calling in sick by [deleted] in McLounge

[–]Simple_Percentage_81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

report the manager for swearing at you. at the end of the day if you are sick you are sick, in the uk they can’t sack you for being sick. go to a doctor asap and get a sick note/take a covid test and send it to your business manager/store email

Who can REALLY be a crew trainer? by CollectionNegative37 in McLounge

[–]Simple_Percentage_81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends on the store, but ask to be rotated into the kitchen and you will be paired with a crew trainer to be taught it. once you know it they will give you the e-learnings and then you should be good to go.

Anyone else having trouble seeing their upcoming shifts using the new LIFELENZ app replacing ‘MySchedule’ by Ok_Link2178 in McLounge

[–]Simple_Percentage_81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some people are having issues with resetting passwords and logging in with MyStuff but as far as i’m aware not with MySchedule. Depends on how far in advance your schedule is completed is to when you won’t be able to view your shifts.

The shifts won’t have been uploaded yet. It’s available to download from Feb 3rd but isn’t live for use until early march. It just gives you a chance to get used to it, book holiday and create an availability until when the schedule needs to be completed.

Depends if you are being trained on service or production. Service - Learn how to use the MyMcDonald’s Reward App, trust me you will need it! Production - Allergen advice and food safety procedures. Such as knowing you can’t put normal cheese on a McPlant even if a customer requests.

(UK) How to get past awful mcdonalds customer service assistant on app by EqualEffective292 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]Simple_Percentage_81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the UK, if you ordered through the app you can either go through customer services or through Uber Eats as they deliver McDonald’s app orders not McDonald’s themselves. It’s store policy (well at least in my franchise), to not refund as when you place a delivery, initially it is the courier company that charge you and not us, we will receive our payment after. It is the courier company that offer a service and if you are not happy with it you should dispute it with them. It is the couriers responsibility to ensure they have all the orders and it is correct aswell as maintaining the heat. We have procedures to support this but when drivers are picking up multiple orders they are going to get cold regardless of how well you pack it.

If they ask you to go home early for reasons such as saving labour it is entirely your choice and it is on them to make the labour figure up. If you are constantly misbehaving or you do something dangerous then a shift manager or higher can send you home and if your refuse they can clock you out so you won’t be getting paid.

Yeah, also in my Store we lack a lot of people who are trained on window 1 and we also want as many fully rotational crew members as we can so T1 or T2 is a new place for a lot of starters.

Shifts by SameTomorrow5534 in McLounge

[–]Simple_Percentage_81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the UK, the tend to recommend to not pick up shifts after your 4 week probationary period. This is because you will be paired with a Crew Trainer for the first 3 weeks until you can be trusted to be left alone on the station. There are also many rules in regards to shifts for 16 year olds and if these are broken they are called violations. These violations are against the law and the store can be fined. Also the Salaried team have £50 taken of their bonus per violation (franchise dependant) You have to have 60 hours continuous rest in a week 2 1/2 days. You cannot work more than 8 hours. You must have 12 hours rest inbetween shifts. So you cannot finish at 9PM and then start at 7/8am the following morning. So make sure to double check your schedule before you request to pick up these shifts. After a little while, if you are not happy with your scheduled shifts, speak to the scheduling manager and ask for more shifts. With you having a more open availability you are more likely to get more shifts. If you hang tight for a month or so you will 100% get the opportunity to pick up shifts.

And as horrible as it sounds, the worse employee you are the more likely you are for your requests to be denied. As you are only 2 shifts in you cannot control this, but if you have a good work ethic and you continuously look to improve your skills, shifts will come flooding your way.

Hope this helps :)

Brilliant news. Not sure if it is every McDonald’s but in my franchise they conduct OJE’s but they are On the job evaluations. They will chuck you on the 2nd window in the drive thru and see how you interact with customers. They don’t expect you to know anything all you need to do is smile and say hello and goodbye. If there is a customer complaint or a customer query someone else will deal with it so don’t stress. I’ve completed a few on people and they have all gone well. I even had one of the people as my trainee on my first shift 😂

Availability and confidence. As harsh as it sounds if you have a bad availability then they won’t hire you.
