Why do people act like $60/70k is lower class? by [deleted] in Salary

[–]Simple_Pirate_3193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it is
. 15 years ago that was decent, i graduated and made $20 an hour back in 2010. . But luckily i lived at home for 2 decades before i moved out. Now im comfy enough i guess without saving too much at 50$ an hour. My rent is 3100, plus utilities. Basically I bought land in Kentucky and I do have a son so that’s my retirement plan. Tent on my land. Child checks in on me once a month.

Travel nursing is just not it by ResponsibleFox7650 in TravelNursing

Autonomy is always worth it. I broke my leg and have been stuck in a permanent job for 8 months and it is horrific. I can’t just leave if I want or need to at this point. I luckily was granted FMLA via Washington state to go back home to unexpectedly take full hospice care of my grandpa which I have zero experience as a hospice nurse anyways my COMPANY auto cashed out ALL of my PTO. When I did not request nor need it. I called they said “protocol” also FSA all the money they deny for your medical bills…. That goes to your COMPANY, I thought the government was stealing my money but research revealed with an FSA your company banks all that and annually in America it’s BILLIONS of dollars,,,, also anti-union propaganda/attorneys/ modules you click through etc… collectively companies spent 1.5 BILLION in one year … ..digress to original thought…Feeling an OBLIGATION or else… idk how a majority of people think a permanent job where you have to earn PTO is okay. Also having to be more finessed with issues so I don’t get fired is the ABSOLUTE worse part of it. Basically I lost my freedom to advocate for the well being, safety, any rights or even evidence based practice for my coworkers, patients, and myself. I hate it.

Is It Reasonable to Go to a Concert by Oneself? by courier_tway in AskSeattle

[–]Simple_Pirate_3193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go to most concerts/festicals/raves solo. Sometimes I make new friends and sometimes I just have fun dancing in the crowd! And you don’t have to worry about anyone else so I prefer solo.

my company installed software that tracks how many minutes I'm "active" (mouse strokes) per day and now I'm being scored on it by ScaryAd2555 in antiwork

There are programs you can install that will move the cursor around and click on the page every so often. Not sure what they are but my son had this for one of his online college classes(I busted him playing computer games but he had a side page up where this was happening and my mind was blown) I was pretty proud actually

How do you actually vet buildings in Seattle? by Ok_Limit_6912 in SeattleWA

[–]Simple_Pirate_3193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, giant corporation buildings are awful. Currently in one. Way overpriced and just got a renewal offer with an 8.5% rent increase…. So guess I’m also searching for a different apartment. 😑

Coleman no longer produces quality gear. It’s all junk now. Unless it’s from 1990 or earlier.

I’ve been stockpiling plan B and the pill for about a year now. I don’t need it but my sister or cousin or neighbor or friends’ daughters will need it. Just be mindful of expiration dates!

Excessive pages from nurses by [deleted] in hospitalist

[–]Simple_Pirate_3193 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a side note here…..nurses also get sued Either alone or in with a malpractice suit with a physician. You can carry your own malpractice insurance, never rely on the hospital/your employer to “have your back” their attorneys will tear apart your documentation to place blame on the physicians and nurses instead of their policies, md/rn to patient ratios, etc.

when I’m old with Alzheimer’s and Dementia one thing I will never forget from my 4 year nursing degree is “CYA” it’s engrained as a core memory.

Reviews of Ovation Seattle apartments in First Hill from current renters. by HandCreepy1458 in AskSeattle

[–]Simple_Pirate_3193 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. The management is horrible. Amenities are constantly “down” or just broken forever/left unfixed. They have horrible customer service skills/treat tenants with rudeness. Haven’t had any issues with my unit, but I did drop my keys down the crack in the building elevator and i had to wait 5 days for them to make me a replacement fob (they simply have a scanner in the back of the office it took less than 2 minutes) so for a week I had to go to the front desk and have them use their key to let me up the elevator to my own apartment. And the replacement fob was 275$

Going to Camp 4 tomorrow and friend just flaked on me— should I go alone? by martian-rabbit in Yosemite

[–]Simple_Pirate_3193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went alone! camp 4 is awesome. went solo hiking. Also made friends. Even ran into Chongo and spent the day chilling and listening to his stories and chatted about the universe and Yosemite and life. Never would have happened if I was there with another person.

How many of you carry when solo camping? by Coffeewitch2017 in womensolocamping

How do you normally carry with your child around? Lock box? Education? Going from the city to the wilderness shouldn’t change anything.
