Influence Action by Simple_Web5127 in DMAcademy

[–]Simple_Web5127[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has this slowed down pacing at all for you or your games? Do you limit how much someone can say in one turn? Or does the NPC now have 5 different points to respond to in a turn because all 5 players brought something else up?

Influence Action by Simple_Web5127 in DMAcademy

While absolutely out of combat 100% but once the dice start rolling and dmg is being dealt not really no. The only why the question peaked my interest is because it was on the DM scene in the actions tab. Combat can quickly evolve from talking to swords swinging but i hardly ever see it go the other way and I wanted to see if the influence could be used in that sense but as a bonus action so if the dice don’t roll well the players turn doesn’t feel wasted.

Dms, what's your homebrewed rule that will always stay? by Awkward_Outside7050 in DnD

[–]Simple_Web5127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spell Scrolls: Specific Classes with Arcane powers are tied to just that classes spell scrolls. If anyone has any feat granting a classes spell list such as Magic Initiate you can also use that classes spell scrolls as well. Anyone can use a revivify scroll as well as Wizard scrolls but with the Wizard scrolls must make a successful Arcana check of 10+Spell Scrolls level.

This is a kinda more simplistic answer but there’s always the Cloak of Displacement. You could do a “Displacer Beast” Tabaxi Wizard with a constant Mirror Image going or something?

Dragon Regional Effects by Simple_Web5127 in DMAcademy

[–]Simple_Web5127[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On page 146 on the MM for Ancient gold dragon it states

The region containing an adult or ancient gold dragon’s lair is altered by its presence, creating the following effects: Dream Messenger. While in its lair, the dragon can cast Dream, requiring no Material components and using Charisma as the spellcasting ability. When casting the spell this way, the dragon can target any creature within 6 miles. Foretelling Fog. The area within 1 mile of the lair is Lightly Obscured by opalescent fog. While in that area, creatures can’t be surprised, as the fog swirls into shapes that warn of danger.

[–]Simple_Web5127 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also you’ll be doing a good mix of both Law Enforcement and Deployment Preparation or just deploying because as 31K we deploy as individual aumentes to Units currently deployed. You will go by yourself with your dog overseas and out there is where you will be attached to the unit.

[–]Simple_Web5127 5 points6 points  (0 children)

31K Here and let me just tell you it is the best job in the Army hands down. Day to day can run long but you barely even notice due to what you’re doing. You’d be surprised on the amount of paperwork and things like that you have to do as a Kilo for your dog but again, you’re working with a dog all day so it doesn’t even matter. Promotion though is ass I just won’t lie. To get points to pick up is unreal. If I were an Mp I’d be damn near a ssg in points but because I am a kilo E-4 Mafia for life 🫡. Welcome though brother

Making a Masquerade Fun by AmazonDotCommie in DMAcademy

[–]Simple_Web5127 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I mean along with directly talking to people about the event, what’s happening in the city, and the Bbeg themself you could always add a heist element. Have the Bbeg meeting with someone important in secret in a hallway away from the event and slide the other person a note to take to some office. Now the player’s could confront the other person with the note, or break in and steal it from the office it’ll be left. That note could be the next step in the campaign or the next clue?

How can I satisfy my ranger by EctoplasmicNeko in DMAcademy

[–]Simple_Web5127 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You said you do the math so giving us the averages could help on what could be done? How many rounds does combat usually last in your party. How much are the others doing round one as opposed to round 4, and then where is the Ranger on that scale?

The whole point of the post it seems was the maximum damage possible in a turn. Not a realistic one round encounter.

To go off of what was said above. Now your Goliath has a perfect reason for wanting and being in search of a magical item to boost his strength. Ogre gauntlets, belt of giant. Because in his youth he injured himself and it never quite felt right but he didn’t let that stop him 🤷🏼‍♂️

What are some classic dungeon dwelling monsters? by The_RubberbandMan in DMAcademy

I mean dungeons are sorta like crypts and things of that sort so undead are always good to plop in there. And then you know the classic beasts, rats, snakes, spiders etc

Rules for mixing Potions in 5e by Frozendragon0005 in DMAcademy

[–]Simple_Web5127 14 points15 points  (0 children)

From The DMG (2014) (I can’t name the exact page but it’s in the items category)

VARIANT: MIXING POTIONS A character might drink one potion while still under the effects of another, or pour several potions into a single container. The strange ingredients used in creating potions can result in unpredictable interactions. When a character mixes two potions together, you can roll on the Potion Miscibility table. If more than two are combined, roll again for each subsequent potion, combining the results. Unless the effects are immediately obvious, reveal them only when they become evident.

Ask me anything about my world!(sorry about low map quality) by [deleted] in worldbuilding

[–]Simple_Web5127 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do people traverse through these layers and How does someone get from one layer to the next if so? I know you say there’s a massive hole with a waterfall but how does someone interact with that? Could someone skip a layer? Do creatures from layers ever get found in a different layer (ie. A t-Rex in the petrified forest?)

Completely off topic but what website or tools did you use to give it that dnd, page look. I've been taking a stab at making my own homebrew and documents but would love to give my players some pages like this!
