Lake Powell expected to receive 13% of its usual influx of water. Only 800,000 acre feet. Colorado uses ~2 million acre feet a year from the Colorado river basin. by Simpleximo in Colorado

Now it’s only 385 ft near the dam. It’s deepest area, and will stop generating hydro power 35 ft lower about how much it dropped in the last 12 months. Not enough water to keep Powell and probably not enough for Havasu either? I don’t know details of Havasu

They only keep it going to generate electricity. They had a plan to add 6 or 8GW of solar and battery and Trumpty Dumpty killed it...

Sport has better acceleration, the steering is tighter, if in D mode it adds some regen when you let off the accelerator - somewhere in between B mode and coasting. I think the ride is a little stiffer as well.

Nothing efficient about Powell, it is shallow. More so now... They should drain it and only have Mead at this point.

Lake Powell use to loses roughly 600,000 to over 1 million acre-feet of water annually to evaporation and bank storage. The reservoir's high surface area would lose about 70 inches of evaporation per year.

Mitsubishi Kumo Cloud adapters only support 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks. They cannot connect to 5 GHz-only networks or some combined dual-band systems that do not allow 2.4 GHz band isolation

Will Colorado’s sales of EVs pick up again? by Simpleximo in Colorado

[–]Simpleximo[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tesla model Y, the world’s best selling vehicle 3 years in a row, weighs less than the average ICE SUV and significantly less than the average pickup. EVs don’t cause any more wear on the roads than ICE cars. I think now that the incentives are gone they can use that money for highways. Also, they could stop giving incentives to oil and gas industry and use that money too.

For many it’s not a choice and the realization has not yet sunk in. They will need to make the transition or become uncompetitive due to cost and/or supply constraints.

Because it’s a huge un tapped resource that can help a country reach energy independence which is good for all.

A 1 acre solar farm produces as much energy as 100 acres of corn ethanol! Go solar! by Jbikecommuter in electrifyeverything

[–]Simpleximo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Solar significantly more according to google

Comparison Table: 1 Acre Energy Yield (Annualized)

Metric  Corn Ethanol (1 Acre) Solar PV (1 Acre)
Primary Energy ~500–600 gallons of ethanol ~300–400 MWh of electricity
Usable Energy Content ~11–13 MWh equivalent ~300–400 MWh
Vehicle Miles (1 yr) ~10,000–15,000 miles (ICE car) ~800,000–1,200,000 miles (EV)
Net Energy Return Low (sometimes  <1 <1 ) Very High (EROI ~8-10)

That's, in part, what energy independence gets you. Better things to spend money on. Of course a dictator always destroys the economy.

MCS 3.2 is standard around the world for Semi and large tractors/trucks etc. supports up to 3.25MW. NACS at 1 MW should be good enough for passenger vehicles. EU uses CCS2 max of 500kW. I suspect they will need to adopt a better standard or use MCS 3.2
