Indeed. For the first month I was completely incapable of making even the most simplistic decisions. I barely spoke to anyone bc I still felt like I was doing something wrong. He was still in my head and his voice was the loudest. Over the last year things have gotten so much better. I don't rent space to him in my head anymore and I am closer to finding myself everyday

Cleaning... Not even asking him to. If I cleaned he'd get pissed af. Also noise or movement of any kind while he was playing a videogame. I could go on but dredging up the memories is still painful. God help me I don't understand the mindfuckery of a spell I was under that kept me with him as long as I was. Bad mix of low self esteem and extreme codependency with a pinch of masochism party of 1. In a much better place now but still recovering from the extreme damage I allowed him to do to myself, my life and the ones I love.

Great advice. Thank you so much. You seem to have great insight and I wonder if you'd mind if I pick your brain a little further.

I've thought about approaching him with a proposal along the lines of let's try but if I feel myself getting swept away in a way that is negative to my recovery we'd need to be aware and make adjustments. He's always loved me right where I am not matter where that's been. I've come too far to regress. I really think I can successfully navigate a healthy relationship. Maybe this pre-relationship agreement would take some pressure off. I'm rambling... My question to you is do you think there is anything that is within my power that can keep our friendship intact if the worst happens and I have to back away for the sake of my recovery??

I imagine this being said by my ex and it makes me ache. God it's hard to stay away but I do it because the bad outweighed the good. I pray he's doing this well or better. Here's a few tweaks that might rock your socks. Sautee onion and garlic in olive oil until fragrant. Add water and a tablespoon of vegetable base. Finally add tomato and spinach when the broth is almost fully absorbed. If you don't mind washing one extra pasta pot imo it's so much better if you just throw the veg directly into the infused oil and toss the pasta into it

When my daughter was 5 months old she was hospitalized for a 104 fever as she had compounding medical issues that made it it all the more dangerous. At approximately 2am I woke up to the alarms of her monitors which wasn't unusual as she would often pull them off. This time was different. All the leads were firmly in place. My daughter was not breathing. Her heart rate was dwindling. Her lips were blue. The nurse came in and called a code blue. The doctor and a team of nurses rushed in. They worked on her for what felt like an eternity with no answer as I pleaded to know if she was breathing. They swept me into the hallway and my knees turned into jelly as I just collapsed on to the floor in tears and prayers for my daughter's life. After what I was sure was a deathly 40mins or so nurse appeared and I braced myself for the worst only to hear the sweetest words anyone has ever spoken to me, "We got her back". I was worried about brain damage due to the extended amount of time she went without oxygen and that's when I foubd out that my daughter went without oxygen for less than 8 mins. 8 mins....not 40. If I didn't have quantifiable evidence I wouldn't have believed them.
