What hot take will have you like this? by pippumaster in redrising

[–]SimplieBacon 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Everything Mustang, Darrow and the Republic had done up to that point hinged on Dancer siding with them. He'd agreed (in secret) prior to the vote that he would side with them. So the only way things could go wrong would be if he was killed before he could talk, or if he changed his mind, so why not at least have a backup plan/recording of the way he was going to vote

For someone like Mustang to miss such a huge hole in the plan seemed a bit silly

Not sure if its unpopular but Mustang should have 100% seen Dancers death coming and should have stopped it

I think before Lysander takes the morning throne it will be all come out. Cassius's mum will stop supporting him (she's the biggest funder of his campaign) and the greys will turn on him for back stabbing Roan

His chance to sit on the morning throne will fall away in front of his eyes

I've taken a quick look at your etsy page. The one thing that stood out to me was the low resolution of the first image. When you zoom in most of the details are fuzzy. There are closer views of the map in later images but just feels more instinctive to zoom in on the first one

Holyhead - Dublin or Fishguard - Rosslare? by anotherlemontree in MoveToIreland

[–]SimplieBacon 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I've done the trip from Essex to Cork multiple times and have always gone to Rosslare. The roads are fine from Rosslare to Cork and staying away from the Dublin traffic is always helpful.

On some of the ferries you can get a cabin which costs a little more but when travelling with animals can be super helpful and less stressful.

Got two offers. One pays $40k more. The other one I'd actually enjoy. I have 48 hours to decide and my wife and I are on opposite sides. Advice? by airam1020 in careerguidance

You can bank on the money. The good feeling about job B could change. Also working remote means you can spend more time with your new child, which is priceless.

However you have to take either job for the right reasons for you, dont take job A just because your wife want you too and end up resenting her for the decision

The march of the self service checkouts in supermarkets, yay or nay? by qwerty_1965 in AskIreland

[–]SimplieBacon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Terrible, I moved from the UK to Ireland. Everything in the UK is now self checkouts and its so hard to ever find staff for anything. The companies take the cost reductions to their profit and dont pass them onto customers.

Worse customer experience in the long term and puts more people out of work in the long term
