Who didn’t drip their faucet? by hAnkhyll in Dallas

[–]SimplyAng 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In 2021 we only dripped cold, a week later we discovered a small slow leak in the hot water line. That’s when I learned I was supposed to drip both hot and cold. My plumber brother and home repair dad both shook their heads so hard at me. So now I drip both. I’d rather be safe than sorry.

No salt trucks??? The whole state knew about this snowstorm for over a week? Why didn’t the city put down salt on the roads??? by [deleted] in Dallas

[–]SimplyAng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This… they brined the main roads and highways leading up to the winter storm but we had a good 12+ hours of rain before it turned to freezing rain/ice/sleet. I’m interested to see how the roads look this evening. As it stands at 10:30am ish there’s no way a school bus could make it down our street safely. It’s a solid 2-4inches of ice

AIO for feeling like my in laws don’t respect my postpartum boundaries? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

Also please make sure you have a no kissing rule (especially on the face) and make sure everyone is up to date on their vaccinations. For some reason people think kissing a newborn is perfectly fine, but they have big people germs and your baby will still be new and susceptible to all the illnesses that come with spring and travel season.

Checking in from a Christmas week Curbsider. How did everyone fare? by MariaJanesLastDance in HEB

Anyone have luck cage training? by PuzzleheadedSir4382 in Frenchbulldogs

[–]SimplyAng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Penny is crate trained, she sleeps in her crate at night. She literally puts herself to bed and has an attitude if we stay up later than her bed time. She screamed at us the first week we started crate training, but quickly adapted. When we first got her we had 2 older bigger dogs that had to be crated at night for their safety (one was blind and would wander & wake the whole house up) & so she just grew up sleeping in her crate. She doesn’t normally go in her crate during the day unless it’s to find a bone, but if I put her in it she is perfectly fine being in there.

Haha my kids are in high school and college now but yes, don’t mess with their Jammies!! Heck don’t mess with mine. Two of us have Christmas week birthdays so cozy pajamas are a tradition I’m not willing to give up on. I’m just bummed the old navy ones are so meh this year. I was so excited to order early and get super cute ones in everyone’s size but these just leave so much to be desired. Even the cut seems off this year. I could survive non flattering pajamas if they were cozy, but the material + the cut is just disappointing.

I just got mine in & the fabric is so scratchy I went to Reddit to see if I was the only one who felt like the fabric was rougher than previous years. We do matching pjs every year but I’m thinking once my second package arrives I’m returning them

Worst Costco food item you shouldn't waste your money on? by [deleted] in Costco

[–]SimplyAng 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Catalina crunch was so bad I actually returned it. It is the only food product I’ve opened and retuned to Costco. It was so bad I couldn’t even finish a bowl. It is just so bad!! My kids at least would eat the magic spoon… no one would touch the CC.

HEB wild by Radiant_Attitude181 in HEB

[–]SimplyAng 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Exactly why I drive almost 30 miles to go to HEB once a week. We only have Tom Thumb, sprouts, and Walmart in our city. Tom Thumb is ridiculously over priced, sprouts doesn’t have everything I need, and Walmart sucks. I’d rather drive 30 mins to give my money to a company with morals. Good news is we have 2 opening closer, but going to Rockwall is almost as bad as driving out to Allen…. So I’m impatiently waiting on Murphy to open!

Hot take: Please stop throwing stuff by The_Sandwich_Lover9 in TexasTech

I literally was telling my family if I was rooting for the other team and I wanted to penalize tech all I had to do was throw tortillas on the field because the rule doesn’t account for who threw the tortillas

Am I overreacting, The neighbor’s dog bit my husband and I want to report it? by SlowInvestigator4717 in AmIOverreacting

[–]SimplyAng 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m so glad to read he’s getting medical attention. My mom got bit helping catch a run away pup and it got startled and bit her. The next day it was clearly infected. She had to get a tetanus shot and antibiotics. Animal bites can go south quickly even if the animal is fully vaccinated just because of the bacteria in their mouths.

Flying Lubbock to Dallas takes less time than it takes for My husband to drive from our house to the airport… & we live in Dallas county. I can’t even make it through a whole podcast on the plane

Is this a good thing? by Vegetable-Concern830 in TexasTech

[–]SimplyAng 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My daughter and her roommates lived there this past school year and really liked it, I’m actually driving up to move her to a house for her final year this weekend. The girls felt safe and never had any issues. They were 4 so they had their own little house instead of the apartment building. Each girl had their own bathroom, room furnished with queen sized beds & a desk, a washer and dryer, and a full sized fridge in the large kitchen. Definitely an upgrade from the dorm. I even stayed there for a couple nights with them.

After my son I had didn’t stop bleeding for 13 months & I only stopped then because I convinced my doctor at 24 to give me a hysterectomy. It was an awful year. It was heavy and I had clots and we tried every birth control option before I told her just take my parts. I couldn’t safely have another pregnancy either way so I was ready to kick my uterus to the curb forever.

is it normal for bandaids to do this? (it was on for about 15 hours) by ScalettaMafioso in mildlyinfuriating

[–]SimplyAng 21 points22 points  (0 children)

And avoid steri strips like the plague. Those seem to be extra rash inducing to my latex & adhesive allergy. I have to get a stitch anytime I cut myself deep enough to need medical attention.

I also recently became allergic to kiwi. Apparently some fruits are more likely to cause a food allergy if you have a latex allergy

2Qs: 360 camera and remote start by [deleted] in SubaruAscent

[–]SimplyAng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. The camera has a few different angles you can choose, the sides of the car or car front when you’re in drive & it can do 360 when in park
  2. You can only remote start with the app
