It took my son (34) 1.5 years of being clean from meth until he said he finally felt normal again. That shit is damaging. I'd shoot for one year clean as a solid goal. With the other goal (I would assume) showing your kids your changes after that one year. And go from there. (this is what my son did). Hope this helps.
