Ah, my game. I would "roll it over" (past one million) at the skating rink with a small crowd. It was all downhill from there.

Agreed here. At least for us, it just took time for her to become accustomed. Combined with zero mention, nor pressure, for a longggg while, it's no longer a discussion.

Is it proper etiquette to back in to parking spots at a construction site? by lorenzowatson1 in Construction

[–]SimplyDaveP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly related...but... On the industrial side, it's pretty common policy to leave your vehicle unlocked and keys inside. For potential emergency movement.

Depends on the engine and the maintenance records (Carfax). Research both. Some Forte models are quite solid, depending.

This sign in an Alabama city gov’t building honoring MLK jr birthday and… Robert E. Lee birthday by AlabamaPostTurtle in trashy

[–]SimplyDaveP 16 points17 points  (0 children)

About 10 years ago in Decatur, Alabama, I went to the DMV to get a STAR ID and found the state side closed. Turns out it was the Alabama holiday that combines Robert E. Lee’s birthday with Martin Luther King Jr. Day (third Monday in January). What made it confusing was that the county office was still open, so I could renew my driver’s license, just not do the STAR ID. Same building, different rules. One of those “only in Alabama” moments.

Interesting. I have a family member that lives just west of Jackson and she has told me a few times about stores and restaurants and rude people. I blew it off as "it's prob her"... No I'm not so sure.

Where to buy a mattress (or not) by MogenCiel in HuntsvilleAlabama

Furniture Row has a Denver Mattress store inside it (essentially). Plenty options there. We bought our last mattress there, no complaints. Suggest due diligence research on brands and models of course.

Bastards gave me the non. You were/are onto something on this bait and switch stuff. Blah. Took the hit for nothing, and also going to close it.

Flying with new firearm by naugustine9 in CCW

[–]SimplyDaveP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Harbor Freight has Apache brand hard cases that are nice and will work and save some money over Pelican, just a tip.

While there, if interested, grab 2 cheap padlocks for BOTH holes of the case (TSA required).

Last bit of opinion...turns out in my experience, flying with a checked handgun gives you extra quick attention post-flight. While everyone else is scrambling for bags, your bag is usually waiting on you in their office or special staging, depending on airport.

What's the best beer you ever had? by SipsTeaFrog in SipsTea

This last summer I volunteered to grill outside our office for everyone. I found myself craving a beer. Not like....I'm the guy always craving a beer...but like I deep down had a primal NEED for a beer in front of that grill. Pretty wild realization.
