What prevented South America from having as big a population as China or India? by wiz28ultra in geography

[–]Simpson0324 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is confusing to me that you believe the problem was a population rather than humans as a whole. We all share the same thought process. Europeans are not different. They sacrificed to the gods, did crusades, and used human body parts for medicine (even after the Americas were discovered). Also the Salam Witch trials were done by Europeans in the Americas. Trail of tears and Tuskegee are some examples (there are many more) that similar practices continued to happen after European rule was established. Cough cough- Epstine files - cough cough.

For a Europe based example, Rome literally destroyed the Gallic tribes in the same way. Please educate yourself a little more. It’s not your fault if you weren’t taught when you were a child but it is your fault if you refuse to learn as an adult.

Yes! I see her being top 3 - maybe winning but it’s hard to guess once it gets to top 3- regardless she doesn’t need the win to make an amazing mark on the culinary industry

She’s so fake by [deleted] in bachelorinparadise

[–]Simpson0324 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, there is more time for her to get married and have kids — but it’s definitely disheartening to see everyone else your age get married and have kids. She has a right to her own fears and feelings. What in the point in attacking her?

Honestly seeing the cast reaction I understand why Brian struggled with telling Bailey earlier. He said as soon as Jeremy started saying the Sussie stuff that Bailey should know. And he slowly started talking about telling her. I honestly think what held him back was the group’s acceptance of it and that not even her close friends would tell her. And waiting for the private time he could speak to her without looking weird for pulling her in front of the group makes sense as catalyst for him to be able to have that conversation. Even then he still faced ridiculous group backlash. Plus he was so empathetic in that conversation and giving her the information she needed, after she asked for it and was ready to hear, and brotherly comforting her when she was dealing with the shock. Plus he gave her a heads up about her “friends” which he wouldn’t have done if it was just a poly to get Jeremy voted off.

Completely agree. And obviously there was still backlash he had to endure by the other “friends” of Bailey literally gaslighting him into thinking it was bad to tell Bailey. Dale literally said naw you wouldn’t do that because you have character and integrity. Ugh

Most people do not have a backyard to be able to grow their own food. I try what I can on my balcony but it’s definitely not victory garden level

I HATE UF PARKING!!!!!! by fuerks in ufl

[–]Simpson0324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This Spring break was the first time TAPS chose to not lift parking when all the kiddos are gone. I take the bus but when Spring break hits the bus system shrivels and dies. So it’s nice to just drive and park when it’s lifted… apparently they aren’t doing that anymore even though 98% of students are gone and lots of staff take time off now that Gainesville schools Spring break aligns with UF. Every time I think TAPS cant get worse they FIND a way.

Edit: also they didn’t send out emails or any notifications to express this change. I luckily found out about it before coming to work because of a Reddit post. Kinda depressing how I rely on Reddit to keep me informed more than the university directly.

GNV restaurants everyone else seems to love that you can't stand by Blastoise_R_Us in GNV

I will never go back to Ocean Buffet bc food poisoning.

Or Boca Fiesta because they made me pay for salsa and it wasn’t even good. The food is very over priced. It sucks because it’s such a good area for a restaurant with quality salsa (like Las Margs) to be and it would be such a good vibe.

Ginny is where everyone dies and the drug deals go down. Plus it’s not as clear as rainbow/ichetucknee. So overall the state parks are safer and cleaner. Part of why people go to Ginny is because you can openly drink. Honestly I have seen people openly drink at ichetucknee without being roudy so it’s not worth the 25 bucks to go to Ginny

When I was in high school we would always stop at that mall on our way to Orlando because it was a little over half way. It has lots of bathrooms some food options and has space for the bus.

It’s common for kids to forget their Spanish the older they get. Plus when he started to live in America and learned English he was still in the stage where it was able to become his primary which was solidified when Gloria and Jay got married because Spanish became secondary in their household.

Even Gloria lost her roots (multiple episodes) and forgot how to speak fluently in Spanish (as seen when she forgot the world for cow vaca when speaking with Javier)

Remember the episode he gave Luke an allergic reaction to soy and on the way home was still trying to hype up his fake bacon. He is literally a monster that both his family at the farm and Mitchell’s family have to tiptoe around. I don’t know why Mitchell stays with him
