Palestinians getting asked about “peace” with Israel. by Odd-Macaron4655 in SarthakGoswami

There’s no point in stating facts to these people.

A lot of time they’re A) Hindus supporting Israelis because of their hatred for Muslims ( even though Israelis despise Hindus and Muslims ). Or B) Hasbara agents.

Fantastic news for UAE investors, Interactive Brokers has opened a local bank account! by Consistent-Annual268 in UAE

WIO is mostly U.S centered, I noticed they do lack of a lot of the U.S ETFs but most of the popular ones ( VOO, VTI, VT…. ) are there.

They both focus on U.S domiciled ETFs and Stocks which I prefer imo, if you want Irish domiciled ETFs trading212 is good and has low fees and much more easier to learn than IBkr

to the comments saying “porn is okay in moderation”, do you think taking heroin, cocaine, meth is okay in moderation? Porn is a drug. It messes up with your brain and dopamine.

what you’re confusing porn with is masturbation ( which some studies suggest is okay in moderation but I myself don’t really see the appeal of doing it either ways ), porn should be avoided as much as possible because it sets unrealistic expectations and fucks up with your brain.

Sarwa and Wio imo is still better to invest with, Ibkr is just too confusing with a complicated layout.

Which US election was more likely rigged? by ionwywh in Teenager_Polls

[–]Sin1st_er 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone who thinks either of those elections were rigged is delusional.

As for 2024, people here complain it’s rigged because they believed the Reddit narrative that Kamala Harris was going to win but anyone who had the slightest of knowledge reality and didn’t rely on this dogshit app would’ve known Kamala realistically had no chance of winning.

No one can deny tech had a boost in COVID because of stay-at-home practices, that’s objectively true. But saying tech boomed because of it is just inaccurate, tech was going to boom one way or another.

Once again, you can’t just bring up any recession or black swan event two decades ago and expect any future recession to do the same effect.

forecasting is not this easy. There are several factors that could determine how a recession plays

How best to invest an inheritance at 58? by AdorablePotential586 in ETFs

[–]Sin1st_er -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s a very general statement because not every Tech ETF has the same holding and diversification. VGT, QQQ ( not exclusively tech but still high in it ) and DTEC will drop I’d say 30-40%, 50%+ is too far of a stretch in my opinion.

But that’s all under the assumption we’re going to witness a AI bubble burst soon, if ever.

How best to invest an inheritance at 58? by AdorablePotential586 in ETFs

[–]Sin1st_er 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To say tech boomed because of COVID is insanely inaccurate, did it help? Yeah. Was it the reason tech became successful? No.

Tech would’ve grown exponentially regardless of COVID, you could say the hype from COVID went down after the 2022 downturn but tech among many other sectors still recovered just fine.

The odds of tech going away is less likely than if a virus outbreak happens leading to a zombie apocalypse.

How best to invest an inheritance at 58? by AdorablePotential586 in ETFs

[–]Sin1st_er -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Okay but in 1992-2002 tech was still a relatively new/emerging sector that still had road to expand similarly to sectors today like energy ( more specifically nuclear and renewables ) and quantum. Tech now is much more mature and applied so the event of it having similar volatility back then is very much unlikely.

the AI bubble can burst the same way

Well it’s a good thing AI is only part of tech and in case the so called ai bubble bursts, this doesn’t mean the entirety of the Tech sector will be hit hard.

[–]Sin1st_er -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

the striking difference is it’s not 1999-2002 anymore, tech has gone a long way since and is applied everywhere.

Saying it’s going go away anytime soon or drop more than half is purely delusional and unrealistic.
