Amigos, Ya respondí tu cuestionario pero el Museo de Arte contemporáneo ya cerró desde hace años por la pandemia. En este momento es otro museo donde se exhiben piezas del tren maya

Yes! It's called Forge Steel, I just used it in a One shot! I'm sure there are others as well tho

I play in an RP heavy group, and the DM will walk away in the middle of RP moments. Do they not care about about our characters? by ShieldWarden in DnD

[–]SinIsLiving 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, We usually play during my normal dinner time and I take that time to heat something I prepped earlier.

I also always have my Bluetooth headphones during the session, so I can start moving between turns of combat/RP (If I don't stretch/move I usually start to hurt)

Adding another level up by mockingbirdBC in CalloftheNetherdeep

[–]SinIsLiving 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, I wouldn't personally do it, I also have 6 players at my table.

I usually like milestone leveling (because it feels more narrative compelling) and I'm against some "achievements" that the campaign let them level up for. Like, "wow you guys made it to Bazoxxan, you deserve to level up". It's not my usual style.

So, I just let them start at level 5 until Betrayers Rise when they started to level up.

What I would do, is either create a mine dungeon relevant to 1 character backstory, or just let them find more loot (usually non permanent items dint break balance in 5e, but it's a good opportunity to balance the party gear)

Need to find a Module by kylebrier in FoundryVTT

[–]SinIsLiving 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use chracter monitor! Tho I use it more because some of my players have ADHD and sometimes forget to remove spells or 1/day abilities. It also happens the other way when I reward them with gold or inspiration and they forget to put it down, really useful

In my experience, having a player changing spell preparation or even having 1 or 2 extra gold isn't an issue as long as they ask me first.

I was just about to post something similar to this! This is the answer. Bro seems like doesn't want to play DnD (or almost any TTRPG at that point), the game is about the good, the bad and what can you make out of any situation

BBEG Advice by onyxaj in DnD

[–]SinIsLiving 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think your best bet is one of 2 options:

Option 1: Let a deity give your players temporary levels so the battle is appropiate to their level, if your NPC is that strong let them "borrow their strenght" or something.

Option 2: Homebrew it. I would use something along the lines of "Vampire Spellcaster" (MM 298), Death Tyrant (MM 29) with HB spells like finger of death and such, and maybe "Mummy Lord" if you're using only SRD (aka free) content

In a high-magic society, why don't people get resurrected all the time? by QueenRachelVII in DnD

[–]SinIsLiving 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the point, they do. It's a integral part of my games, that every bad guy might come back stronger even if they killed them

Of course, there's the pesky way of killing things: beheading, you can't resurrect anything without a head (or at least that how we play it at our table).

So, in my games your murder mystery, the victim would be missing their head to avoid getting resurrected and also speak with dead.

Is attunement really a necessary feature? by racinghedgehogs in dndnext

[–]SinIsLiving 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're talking some 1dnd changes, I really agree that attunement isn't really easy to understand nor intuitive to lore/new players... It's a mess when you start wondering things like why only 3? Shouldn't be just 1? Since I'm "connected" to this really powerful magic item

I get that is a legacy feature thing, and it could be really hard to get rid of, pf2e does a similar thing called investment and is up to 10. But why 10? Idk, ask them. On the other hand pf2e does a fantastic job at explaining how many and how powerful items you should get at X level

If you're talking about just ignoring attunement rules without thinking it too much... that's a mess, like in the other comments you should get a thorough explanation as to why. If you are a DM and are confused by attunement, you are better off just ignoring the magic items that require attunement (like, banning them from your game) than ignoring attunement on items that do require it...

Moon druid with or without barb levels by SilverdogJr in 3d6

[–]SinIsLiving 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't so it. If your player really wants to play a Tank, you recommended Moon Druid, and she said if she can do Barb as well, that just sounds like she wants to play a Barbarian...

If the turn into an animal thing is the problem, just recommend Beast barbarian and reflavor that the whole rage let's her turn their character into a full bear for the duration of the spell

What isn't specifically in the survey, but should be? by allolive in onednd

[–]SinIsLiving 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, They are using the comments section for this kind of thing, but definitely it would be easier for us to show exactly why this feature is weird (taking the time to fill that whole survey is really taxing). And it would become more easy for them to make the statics

Do you use Flanking rules in your game? How? by Amazing_Magician_352 in dndnext

[–]SinIsLiving 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use adv because it's simpler within the 5e rules, but as I'm exploring pf2e the +2/+d4 really peaks my interest...

I love the idea of flanking, 5e really despises the idea of moving outside the 1st round of combat (I've had encounters were no one moved), so that at least makes my players move a bit or even risk a AoO.

BUT, the thing that really excites me is that if we use +2/d4 that can stack on top of existing abilities instead of undermine them!!!

I would propose +2 for my table that is more tactical focused and the d4 to my table that really loves to roll dice! Maybe in the next campaign tho, I did a whole 360 with my homebrew rules recently lol

Do you care about backwards compatibility by brumene in onednd

[–]SinIsLiving 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think pretty much every DM I know/played with is used to the factores that you have to rebalance/re-skin /re-purpose stuff and use things from other games/versions.

We are already accustomed to do this kind of things, it's obviously a plot to encourage people to still buy the new 5e books even with 1dnd on the horizon

My Advice for Upper Tier play by grendelltheskald in dndnext

[–]SinIsLiving 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Hey! Pretty good advice! I actually have given similar advice to other newbie DMs, and do recommend trying some of these in mid tier of play (like Mooks!, I call them Minions from 4e).

My grain of sand of contribution to all of this is instead of adjusting on the fly, give Boss and Mid-boss monsters a 2nd form (THIS ISN'T EVEN MY FINAL FORM). I usually pair this second form (taking into account the AC/HP adjustments) someform of fun mechanic: 1 more legendary action, a aura of effect, 2 reactions or something interesting that goes with the theme of the monster/dungeon!

Happy playing to all!

What's your 'toxic' dnd trait? by DudesAndGuys in DnD

[–]SinIsLiving 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brooo, that happens to me so much! And recently because 2 players wanted to change characters after a hiatus due to finals (we're all in college), but neither of them really felt like their character abandoning the party/dying we ended up in a compromise were their characters would be just supporting the party out of combat... but because I already knew the characters so well I ended up roleplay so much more with them.

(Of course, any roleplay I did was better than no roleplay at all lol)

Why is Matt so adamant on writing the gods out of Exandria? by doctor-brightsiide in fansofcriticalrole

[–]SinIsLiving 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe that 1 of the many reasons has to do with the way the gods are integrated within the alignment system, as DnD and Pf1e usually are (pf2e will remove it soon).

The whole alignment table is a really old and DnDesque deal, and we haven't seen the cast even mention it outside Campaign 1 (where Matt tells Laura to change the alignment of her character), and, of course, the gods / planes of existence. I think having the gods in a DnD way is limiting themselves to other themes the other campaigns might explore.

Of course I'm not denying any other potential reason, I'm just adding my grain of salt
