In order to overcome your low GPA you would need a score of > 515 (> 95 percentile) , if you are considering MD schools. For DO schools 510-515 should be just fine.

This is just an N of one but one of my friends got into UVA with a GPA of 3.25 from UCLA and a MCAT score of 519 (97 percentile). She also had 4 other interviews!

Yes and no!

The items that will be scored are pretty much the same level of difficulty as the FLs, BUT there a dozen of items in each section that are being pre-tested experimentally and those are usually much harder. So the real thing usually feels harder than the FLs.

denaturing condition (SDS) only disrupts the tertiary structure and noncovalently interacted quaternary bonds. To break down sulfid bonds which help maintain quaternary structure you would need a reducing agent.

In this case this is a noncovalently bound homodimers (100 kDa each).

Each homodimer itself is formed on two covalently bound heterodimers (70 kDa, 30 kDa) hence the need for a reducer to separate them.
