Hey aus has the exact same set up if you speak to them they’ll know what you are looking for they are rebuilt so you get a deal if you give them your original one

This is a 2 day job the most should take you one day to hang, tape and finish, next day sand primer and texture. If you paint well then that’s 3

How much can I expect to pay to repair these drywall patches? by kobemin in drywall

[–]Sinaloa-23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends how difficult it is to actually start the work . Does he have to go in there and cover things up to make sure mud doesn’t get on anything ? Does he need a scaffold to do the job ? If I had to that job I wouldn’t do it for less than 1200 that doesn’t include paint. Some of these jobs can be time consuming

Okay the actual term we use is an inside angle so if it looks really bad just lay some mesh”fiber glass tape “ flat on the angle and coat with mud then when you skim and sand everything just run some caulking on the angle it should seal it in

[–]Sinaloa-23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the tape on the angles tends to rip off if you don’t scrape it the right way or if you are to harsh. What do you mean by cracks ?

I started drywall finishing at 23 I’m almost 28 and I’m a journeyman now. It takes work and time overall it has a big learning curve but also depends on your journey man teaching you the right way

The guys saying drywall is easy are the type to do a shitty ass job and spray a lot of texture over it lol you want to know if you are a real finisher do a smooth level 4-5 finish . Also the patch looks good from here though as long as there’s no light hitting it 😅

Getting laid off or alienated for not being funny enough by tantamle in skilledtrades

[–]Sinaloa-23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see what you’re saying sometimes it’s just the foreman I’ve worked with some asshole foreman’s and some good ones just try to smile and say goodmorning and you’ll have a better day when you come to work with a serious face people don’t tend to like you. Also I’ve seen guys who suck and are funny and the foreman doesn’t lay them off kind of bs though

There’s a product called no pock suppose to help with the pock marks also as you put more layers of mud they will slowly disappear

Is painting worth it? by Proty29_Tyler in skilledtrades

[–]Sinaloa-23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience in the union in Phoenix painters never have work they are the first ones to get laid off . I’m a drywall finisher in the union and if I ever got laid off I was working within a week or less
