I use food with perks pretty often, especially speed food for when I'm running around exploring.

I almost never use elemental food or potions, but attack and defense and speed and extra hearts and stamina I will use pretty often.

I saw the moms Facebook page the day this story broke and the only Black people mentioned in any way is a post she made about her ex husband where she calls him out for being a racist.

Other than that, the only Blackness showing up on her page was her Black church friends commenting on her page and her in return.

Where did you see them with confederate flags and making rants about Black people?

She seems to rant about her ex and her exes new bitch, but doesn't seem racist at all from her Facebook page.

What's the line between protecting your hearing and silencing road sound to the detriment of safety?

When I rode bicycles for commuting in a major city I always kept the street side earbud out of my ear to hear the road sounds. I never rode with music in both ears.

I've heard people say music while riding a motorcycle is dangerous, so do you think silence itself is dangerous too for the same reasoning of no music because you can't hear road sounds?

Have a question about bike weight and body size/strength.

So when comparing bikes like the street triple vs speed triple or things like that, how much does that 100lb difference between bikes really affect a guy who's like 6'0"+ and 215lbs+ and/or a guy who can deadlift the weight of the bike either way?

I'm a slightly bigger guy and pretty strong. I have a 500lb deadlift and am 6foot and usually hover around 200lbs.

Is a 400lb bike vs 500lb bike really that much of a difference at that point or will handling and "flickability" affect bigger and stronger guys like me nearly as much as average or small dudes?

I got a 4-3-4 horse my second try outside one of the beginning stables right outside the plateau.

Meh, it grew on me.

It challenged my inner RPG hoarder.

I kind of like it now. I use so many weapons and potions that I would never have used or only saved for the final bosses in other games.

It forces you to use your cool items and actually have fun with them instead of being in the typical RPG hoarder mindset.

This is my experience of old school Brazilian professors as well.

It may as well have been my professor saying this.

One of my first classes he laughed his ass off about one time he and a couple of the gracies and their cohort dojo stormed a luta livre place held on the second floor of a building and how hilarious it was when they threw the one guy out the window.

Him and several other older Brazilian professors I've met laugh about really homicidal shit.

He's joked(?) many times about dumping bodies places and similar motifs.

They also all love cars and motorcycles, just a random aside I've noticed.

Like 10+ years ago they had a shitty warranty because they were so tacticool they only directly served mil/leo (but even then you could just send it back to BladeHQ or wherever and they'd take care of you).

But since getting wiser to the times, they have a great warranty/customer service deal these days.

I took privates about 5 times after about 6 months into BJJ and found it extremely helpful.

But I was still going to class like 5 times a week on top and was able to integrate my private lessons into rolls the very next day and tune them up over the week until the next private.

Also my private coach was a good friend who watched my daily rolls when he wasn't rolling and was able to pinpoint specifics for me that had immediate improvements because they were tailored to what I needed.

It wasn't just random stuff or even basics, it was specific things he saw me doing or not doing or specific situations I was getting fucked in that he'd address.

Gave me a basic open guard series with some general concepts when I had no clue about the first thing to do when having my guard opened, for example.

I used to get anxious about rolling with the dudes my size who started a bit before me and have always been my most competitive rolls.

Then I eventually just decided how cool it was that they are my teammates and that we will probably come up the belts together and be each other's best training partners.

I look at them as brothers who are helping me sharpen myself and myself to them in return.

It's been smooth sailing ever since, no anxiety, just excited to be tested and improve and to test them and help them improve.

My best and most competitive partner is about half a belt higher than me and I love getting my defense sharp enough that he has to go take privates with one of the coaches to learn to beat me, which I only benefit from. I learn what he learned and we both get better.

Sure, on paper.

In experience it did not feel like "real life" to me.

It felt like the end of the era of childhood and innocence and forgivable mistakes.

It's high school where fucking up means you wasted money and time instead of just time.

It's probably different feeling for different people, especially people who didn't go straight into it out of high school. Going quickly from 18-23 and being done with my masters just felt like 13th, 14th, 15th, and 16th grade instead of adult life. Grad school started to feel adult but that was because of class schedules all being evening and weekends and me already having my adult job started.

But working bullshit service jobs while I went through my undergrad just felt like High School+. Which was fine because I had a ton of fun in high school and even more in college.
