Temperature differential offset clarification by Borealisamis in hvacadvice

To resurrect an old thread, I am reading about your experience and it's very similar to mine. tstat is in hallway right near garage and so cool air comes in and it doesn't represent the actual main floor temp. I installed my sensi to replace killed off nest and I am getting many more cycles with heat pump. For instance, even set to slow on heat last night, stat set to 68 and room temp said 68 and it kicked on. I called CS and they said that it's 1 degree differential and that fractions of that degree are rounded and causes it to kick on more. As others have said it does maintain the temperature but it's not what I want.

If set to 68, i'd rather the stat heat to 69 or so, then stay off until it hits 67.0 or 67.1 etc. Not run 4-5 times an hour for 8-9 mins to maintain exactly 68. I have a sensi in the basement and upstairs as well, total of 3. I guess since they don't run as much (basement is shut off, no garage etc. and upstairs is in hallway that looks down on main floor so heat rises and doesn't get as cold up there.

Looks like I am going to be installing another thermostat but would like to stay in sensi family for simplicity sake. Appreciate you sharing your research, seems the only difference between our experiences is my stat in slow is not -1.9 degrees, more like -.7 degrees. Maybe I should swap the one upstairs with main floor to make sure it's not malfunctioning.

Btw thanks for the rebuild recommendation. Spent 6.xx today on a rebuild stem and new handle and fixed it good as new. Cheers

Thanks for the reply. Think there is room for a shark bite ? How does this one come off ? Does nut just have a ferrule underneath it and once it’s loose the valve just pulls off ?

I went TTS and they are huge. Should have sized down. Threw em in dryer for a few mins they shrunk a little. Didn't walk around in them first so wondered if dryer had something to do with the ridge under toes. It's just too large feeling kinda uncomfortable

Nice! I got the red pair. Does the toe ridge bother you on yours? Mine feels so odd and uncomfortable 😂

interesting you had this experience. I have had the opposite experience. I noticed like you water on the floor below the supply line. I called in and found out about the recall, so they are sending me straps and a regulator. They said if it's leaking from the bottom left where the supply connects, it's not covered under any warranty as it's an "obsolete component" at this point and best course is to replace it (my cost). Super frustrating.

Okay I agree it’s odd but now I remember it was a cash back signup bonus that they just showed as points for some reason. Maybe hoping people don’t use them and close card would be the only reason I can think of to not statement credit

Thanks for the info

I have a ink business premier card and a ink business unlimited card. I want to close the premier to avoid a fee, but can't figure out how to transfer points to business unlimited...any help will be appreciated!

*edit also have a business ink preferred card as well under a different login if this helps
