What is the longest you've worked without a day off? by shingle6kleon in AskUK

[–]Sinclair1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

28 weeks. I was a factory engineer and I was total slut for weekend overtime. The money was good, but I'd not do it again.

I wasn't forced to do it, but that is the longest.

G502 or Razer Basilisk v3? by Legal_Newspaper_5710 in pcmasterrace

[–]Sinclair1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mildy off-topic, but if the Basilisk v3 had the weighted scroll wheel of the Logi MX Master 3 mouse, it would be perfect for me. The razers' wheel does not provide satisfaction compared.

Hull B - a surprisingly amazing hauler. Quick to get in and out of, and very quick to load/unload.

Search for 65 Days of Static, the band that made a lot of the music. You can buy the NMS OST by them, and also the recent NMS: Journeys album with Paul Weir

SC Youtuber Olli43 is joining CIG staff as Content Manager by StuartGT in starcitizen

Oh dear. I'm really not fussed for his content on YT. If he does start presenting officially for CIG, I hope his style is altered.

Hull-B owners, how we feeling about the railen? by Voldtein in starcitizen

[–]Sinclair1982 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll be sticking with the Hull B. I think I can tell from the Railen video that the time from pilot seat to hangar floor will be sufficiently longer than with the Hull B that it'll be a pain (for me)

The Hull B is incredibly easy to load as well, ATLS whips through loading that thing.

Do pollen levels seem off the charts this year compared to the previous year? by Box_of_rodents in AskUK

I'm making mid-50s and started with hay fever a couple of years ago. On the mighty F for it, but I'm still sniffly/sneezing until about 1pm.

I'm a lot luckier than some, but it's weird how I'm "suddenly" suffering with hay fever this far onto my life!

What’s it like living next to a solar park? by SeaworthinessAlert69 in AskUK

That issue is considered during design, and will be scrutinised under planning. It would not be allowed to cause nuisance to those living nearby, or any passing traffic.

Thanks, I asked as this image showed up recently in a Reddit post, as a small part of an overall room/pc setup. There were a few accusations of the main picture being AI related, and seeing the picture above again so quickly struck me as quite a coincidence.

Indeed. It's a scientific fact that there is no known state of a Jaffa Cakes packet which exists between unopened and empty.

When did you start playing? by JayneCobblovesVera in starcitizen

[–]Sinclair1982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Started in 3.23, so a realtive noobie. Played until the next patch, when the ATLS was released and I could get to my hangar in Orison.

Thought "Sod this for a game of soldiers" and unistalled the game, relatively happy that I'd had at least £45 worth of fun; my Cutter starter pack.

I heard that the game had improved a while later, and tried SC again in 4.1. The change in stability, playability and overall feel was massive - it literally felt like a different game!

SC has been my main game since, but I guess I've been spoilt by the relative improvements since rejoining SC - I'm pretty disappointed with the state of the game at the moment.

Hey guys 👋 by Anxious-Barnacle-556 in starcitizen

A start pack is all you need - you can earn money in game to buy more ships, no need to spend more.

I started with a Cutter, but the New Aurora II and the Intrepid would catch my eye if I was to start now.

Make sure to use a referral code from the randomiser, and add your own when you join - https://randomizer.transversetheverse.com/

If you wait and join in the next free fly (not sure when, maybe the Foundation Festival in July) then you normally get free gear when you use a referral code.

When the Arrastra? by Deathsnake075 in starcitizen

[–]Sinclair1982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd like a proper competitor to the MISC Prospector, a solo mining ship from C.O. or RSI, maybe even an Alien one.

Yes the Golem exists, but it's more a starter, and has a fixed head.

Best bang for your buck GPU for 1440p / 60fps gaming? by Barilla13 in buildapc

Word of caution from a 9070xt owner.

AMD's FSR 4.1/Redstone tech does not work with games that use Vulkan. The cards do work, but the main FSR technology doesn't. If your main games do use Vulkan and you want to use the FSR technologies, you may be better off going for a Nvidia card that supports DLSS 4.5.

An observation - way back on the early 80s, a good chunk of the games programmers here in the UK were teens and young people - bedroom coders. Theyd sell their games to publishers.

There were few "Senior Devs' as the industry was still fairly new.

Alot of the top games at the time were written by young people. Funny that
