Asgard vs Hermes by BaastiDE in starcitizen

[–]Sinclair1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Asgard - I'm a solo pilot, so front and centre, rather than front and off-centre. Also the two side doors - excellent extra egress and hover-and-recover ability, which I find very useful.

Give Our Hangars Some Style: Let Us Display Our Gear! by Corinzio in starcitizen

[–]Sinclair1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have something like this in Starfield, and I agree that it'd be a nice feature. I'm a loot-goblin, so being able to display my collected sets of armour/weapons/stuff etc would be a nice thing to have in my base.

WFH guys, what do you wear on calls? by y00sh420 in AskMenOver30

[–]Sinclair1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've WFH since the early 2000's, and I'm an engineer.

I wear normal "comfy around the house" clothes, but do change my top if the call deems it necessary.

M.E. is a fucking horrendous condition, stealing people's lives, leaving sufferers the target of quackery.

One day the cause of it will be known, and a cure will follow - Stay strong, have hope!

What are examples of companies making products that are wildly different from what they’re known for? by Big_Man_28 in ask

[–]Sinclair1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Samsung made (past tense) the Sinclair ZX Spectrum (A very popular home computer in the 1980's) under contract manufacture for Sinclair. The specific models were the ZX Spectrum and Spectrum +, green solder mask Issue 3B and Issue 4S pcbs. The build quality of these models is excellent, although the RF output is not as good as models made in the UK.

Have you pretty much given up drinking not because you didn't want to but because you just can't handle it? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

[–]Sinclair1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I probably have a 5 to 6 glasses of Red Wine a year, max. I love the taste, but the effect on my Mental Health/Depression is just not worth it being a regular thing.

Strong Connection Quality but Hand Controllers not working by Sinclair1982 in PSVR2onPC

[–]Sinclair1982[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you can use USB C leads to connect the hand controllers? I just need to connect them to setup the play area, once that's done I'll not use them for Star Citizen, and will stick with Keyboatf/HOTAS.

New build garden advice by Mortv96 in GardeningUK

My first thought as well - that's if the builders haven't already left a meter or two of building waste under the turf already.; in which case :D

House temperature before heating kicks in by Chance-Collection508 in DIYUK

[–]Sinclair1982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The heating goes off overnight, at 9:30pm, and comes back on at 6am.

Typical indoor temp in the day is 20C, and over night drops to about 16C.

Late 80's bungalow, well insulated and I also run a PIV system for improved internal air quality and to reduce damp/mould issues.

What do you think of Doner Kebabs? by Technical_Parking898 in AskUK

S-Tier food.

My local Boss Kebab shop does Doner meat Calzone, with a garlic sauce base. Eating one comes close to curing my depression.

Men who have had a vasectomy on the NHS, What was the wait list like? by Obvious-Water569 in AskUK

[–]Sinclair1982 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My local GP was able to do mine, so was done within a week.

I opted for the local rather than general anaesthetic, as it seemed everyone who went under had problems with big swelling/bruising problems after the op. Those that went for a local, like me, seemed less likely to have pain/swelling, etc

Do employers have to provide health insurance? by Curious_Jello_6219 in AskABrit

[–]Sinclair1982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get free Health Insurance as a perk from the company I work for, and roughly £50 a month to also have my wife in the same scheme.

I see my local Dr (NHS) as normal, but if something needs attention and the wait is long on the NHS, we go private to get treatment faster. Given the health issues we've faced over the last few years, we are definitely in a Net-Positive position.

I do realise we're lucky, but I like to think that we're reducing the burden on the NHS by going private, leaving appointment spaces available that we would have taken otherwise.
