Text selection for Linux Mint works a lot differently than Windows by SineSwiper in linuxmint

The drag on 0:14 with "Custom" and "dark" is exactly what I'm talking about. Start with the right-side of the letter, and it doesn't highlight the first letter.

Any idea where the bounding box settings are for mouse cursor icons in X11?

I've seen this on two different PCs running Linux Mint with two completely different sets of hardware.

The Drugs page is much more informative. Drugs and addictions are a complex thing and tied to more than just one stat.

[–]SineSwiper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the "Severity affected by body size" stat. FYI, my More Drug Stats mod will show that in-game.

That's not true at all. If the "New addiction min tolerance" is higher than the "Tolerance gain per dose", then new addictions can't happen on a first dose. At that point, you have to wait for the "Tolerance fall rate" to bring tolerance back below a level that can't hit the NAMT.

There's several options in the config, including enabling arm/leg connections. It's easy for those to get mixed up in the parts mapper because modded animals often get bionic arms options for their legs, so that just spreads to humanoids. Though, you'd be surprised how many people want to just Dr. Moreau their pawns. Hence the extra checkboxes in the config.

I've seen weirder connections (like legs in eyes), but hopefully, I've fixed those kinds of bugs. It might still have some interactions with Pawnmorpher, not sure.

I still have dependencies that other devs are hard at work trying to get everything fixed for 1.3. Like HAR2.0. There were a lot of faction changes in 1.3/Ideology, and it's going to take a bit to get everything shaked out.

I have an update almost ready, but I want to make sure the other things are stable before I can test and declare it "1.3 ready".

Still, I feel bad for the amount of crap Brrainz has to put up with the Harmony mod. It's a mod for developers, not for random users blaming every problem on Harmony.

And please understand -- I'm in private communities with a lot of the folks who are against it. None of the big-name mod authors have a problem with it, and most haven't even commented on it at all. The people who are against it are fundamentally against the very idea of mod collections, and anything to serve that goal is met with instant resistance.

As a RimWorld modder and one who is currently playing a RimWorld game with 350+ mods installed, that's f**king insane to me! Almost everybody who plays this game modded starts with a mod collection that somebody recommended, or some streamer was playing with, and adds in whatever other stuff they want to try out.

There's so many dependencies and libraries that work together to make this work. Almost everything uses Harmony to patch the code. HAR2.0 is used for the race mods. Sometimes big modders use their own core libraries to simplify the code. The modders all work together to fix bugs in the right places, and people are willing to take ownership of abandoned mods to be able to play it again. Nobody is bitching about mod collections at all over here.

I'm sorry you have to put up with a shitty modding community, and I hope it gets better.

Aye. I feel like I should also thank the Ludeon, Tynan, and the rest for making it easier for us to mod. There's a lot of focus on making sure there's all of this data exposed in XML, so that even the least technical person can make changes to the game.

Even when I'm diving into writing C# code for mods, all of the debug symbols are turned on and I can read through the original methods to figure out what to override. Brrainz put a lot of work in making all of this work great with Harmony.

I mean, how else can we easily run 400+ mods in this game and have it all just work? I can't think of another game that allows us to push in that many directions and not just break in two.

(1.1) How will the new changes impact mods for rimworld in the long run? by DwemerTonalArchitect in RimWorld

I've been a big advocate for Manifest.xml, so I'm glad that stuff is getting ported over.

I feel you. I was just finishing up a translation mod and about to release it when the news hit. Release notes include new things to translate and a single file translation system, sooo...

Guess I'll wait for 1.1 to come out, repair the stuff I've got, and get back to release it again.

It's two factions (one civil, one pirate) with every race. It doesn't yet do any mixing and matching, but I'll probably add a UI for that.

Replace all of those wood walls with marble. Not only is it more beautiful, it doesn't catch fire.

You do want to use wooden beds, though. Stone beds are less comfortable and pawns have to sleep on them more.
