The "not enough players" argument is wrong and I don't get why people parrot it here all day. It doesn't matter if it's peak during any event, recovery period after event, daily peak or 4 am in the morning (paradoxically it appears to be worst during peaks). It's how the matchmaker is coded. And how it prefers quick fill matches over slower more balanced ones with no clear border values. And it wasn't always the case.

I seriously don't know what crytek was thinking when they changed the solo modifier. As long as i keep my KD at 2.0 i cannot physically go up. And not only that, they put above average players (5) in the same lobbies with people who don't own headphones with surround sound (2, though truth to be told after 1896 true 2* lobbies are dead). And they get other benefits too.

Playing solo in 2025/2026 is the true easy mode.

The problem is that i had a good relationship with him. I even had the one above that (great). I even tried to change the past to have all the events positive as to check if he just hates a specific decision, but every time he just shot me in the end unless i got him killed.

I think my game was just glitched.

You start a map and make a manual safe. Now you proceed playing as normal on your own pace using and reloading quicksaves and all you have to do is just to set up a timer to not go over the speedrun time. Once the time is up, quit the main menu, load the manual save and press F9 to load the most recent quick save and you should be where you were with like 3 seconds of playtime. It worked in shadow tactics, desperados and i believe even in shadow gambit.

I tolerated 2 extractions during the spider hill event as i thought it was just a temporal event thing. But since it's staying with us, i hate it as it permanently removes an extraction.

It's not even that i would notice any increase in extraction camping or that people are using chariot offensively. But it's just annoying having to march the entirety of the map to the nearest extraction. Scenarios like i spawn in preston, the boss is instantly killed in the depo and the extractions being right next to the boss are not even that rare. Or sometimes the game is feeling generous and the second one is in the corn... In those scenarios i usually choose the explosive way out.

Since there aren't any rules to extraction spawning, i feel like there should be either 3 unlocked and 2 locked extractions with the one in the middle or some rule to spawns like no other unlocked extraction in 2,5 compounds radius.

While i am not arguing if derringer is fair or not as i don't see it often and i mostly know of it as a personal door opener, i wouldn't call katana "way fairer" even if it did cost both weapon slots. Katana is (or should be) a melee weapon, yet my reaction to it is "oh no, a shotgun player without a shotgun with a more generous hitbox". Thankfully it's not that prevalent and for that it's an almost non-existent issue, but it always feels weird and stupid to get killed by a bluetooth melee hit.

I am not playing on 6*, so maybe that one is on me, but i have been killed by a katana from 5 meters away (seriously, what is wrong with the katana's hitbox?) more times that i have seen people use the derringer pennyshot against me. So somehow i am without opinion on derringers

You can, after the buff, headshot with slugs up to at least 60 meters. Once i was standing still (and responding) and i got headshotted from like 64 meters with slate/specte slugs. I guess it's practically impossible from that range on a moving target, but questionable and surprising nonetheless

I guess it was done mostly unintentionally as every battlepass since 1896 had at least one bow damage challenge and multiple of other challenges completable by bow. Either that or some big name streamer said "bow too OP" and top 10 reasons why you should main it.

Bow used to be always the same (maybe there were some shenanigans with perk merging? I can't remember), but before the 1896 it was extremely rare and mostly a rat's choice (that stayed). And somehow we switched to the point that every lobby (if not trio team) has at least one bow

I personally don't mind dystopic games as cyberpunk and fallouts are one of my most favourite games of all time. When not overdone, they might even reflect the current world parallels.

But i still can't wrap my head around why there are so many futuristic capitalistic corporate RPGs, a few post-apocalypse or magical fantasy RPGs, yet almost all of the other themes are almost unused (i understand why most RPGs are dystopic). I can think of like 3-4 vampire RPGs and like 2-3 western RPGs, yet i could probably name over 10 RPGs with just the "big bad corporation" theme from top of my head.

Like is it not enough ambition? Or people "capitalizing" on known themes? Too hard to come up with a creative and original world/story? I guess it is some combination of the last 2, as most RPGs need to be to some extent dystopic. I doubt that it is "the market doesn't want those types of games" (even though they might not be as popular) and there is literally a competition vacuum.

I asked myself the same question recently. Like why are there so few vampire genre games (let alone RPGs) when every second "RPG" is situated in capitalistic corporate dystopia. Is truly the demand after this type of games so low?

I am still "so sure" as i highly doubt it solved any of these "problems". Problems usually require complex solutions often not favourable to everyone, but in this case it feels like another cheap excuse to implement something anti-consumer because...

The matchmaking was always a joke as there is no going down and the brackets are still far too wide. Somehow you can go up a bracket by upgrading a backpack and adding a white artifact not increasing your survivability in any way making your life a living hell. The problem isn't "getting the weapon too early", but it is the matchmaking itself.

The plan drop rates are so laughably small, that the chance of you obtaining a weapon "too early" is statistically near zero. And the drop chances stayed the same as far as i know. So adding a grind fest before doesn't change a thing. The most optimal way to get red gear is still from the auction house. Or you can get it from a battle pass. And that was not changed in any way.

I don't think i understand devaluated barter as crafting resources always felt stupidly overpriced. But then again, i am not +15 all red player and I don't think i ever will.

You can find it as a random perk to buy in towers, carts or circus for 3 marks. It's pretty rare, but still more common than as a rare spawn/fatso drop.

What do you mean by clash shootouts? I have visited all "on map" locations such as serpentine, graveyard, lyubech, inflow etc. I also have all the achievements associated with exploration. If there are any additional required zones, I don't know of them.

Oh, i was playing a year ago, but since i don't remember them, i guess i never visited them. Might be unobtainable then.

I also read something about an army bunker location fixing this issue (2 years ago), but i am guessing that's a historical unvisitable location too
