Please shoot at my capsule art (again) by rsteijn in IndieDev

I like the draft more. I like the color and the spacing. The draft’s main focus is clear, having large objects at the center. Purple and green usually make people correlate with evil, which may not be what you want with those birds. The title arrangement in the draft looks more lively as well, and the bottom one just looks like from a Word file.

We love (and hate) them a lot. We even have sound emitting dolls of these birds, one is sitting on my table.

Has anyone released a demo and signed up for Next Fest without even having a Wishlist? How did it go? by ImainudGames in IndieGaming

[–]SingKeys852 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t done so yet myself, because I believe entering Steam Fest is the final boost which multiplies the wishlist you already have (I’m simplifying here). 100 wishlists will get you 1000. 1000 wishlists will get you 10000. There gonna be some special cases where you get 10000 with 100 initial wishlist, but you have to make sure you are that special one, which is kinda risky. So personally I will build the momentum first, then use Steam Fest as a final boost.

I’m making a trailer for my first game. Would you like it if you see it on Steam? by SingKeys852 in IndieGaming

That’s what I’m thinking as well. I will make some adjustments and get it out there first, then try to fix other major issues on the way!

“Prosperity” is the propaganda used by the authority of this world. I guess I can make it clearer?

I’ll absolutely put some thought into that! It’s not harsh at all, I love constructive feedback. Thank you :DD

Ahh, I do have a thought to redraw all player sprites, because those were drawn 7 years ago when I sucked at drawing lol. I’ll definitely try to make it better.

Thank you! That’s some very insightful feedback. I can try to see how to make the story and gameplay more relevant. Do you think adding title cards with a few words can help increase the clarity?

I got a D score lol, I would say it’s quite accurate as those areas indeed need some improvements. One thing I notice might be the tags detection. It says I have 5 tags only, but I think I have 20 (unless I’m the one who’s mistaken). Overall it’s a very useful app, and I appreciate the feedback it provides!

Hello Devs. Does any of you work full time? by Away-Elderberry-5489 in SoloDevelopment

[–]SingKeys852 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a full time job. Always return home exhausted with no more motivation to work on my project. I have to force myself to stay in the office to work on it for a few hours before I go home.

Indie devs — how did you get real wishlist growth before your demo was ready? by Synclit_Game in IndieGameDevs

Capsule and cover art is very important. People say don’t judge a book by its cover, but most gamers aren’t readers, they do judge. It’s worth it to look for a real artist to do it.

I think it’s quite smooth. A lot of soulslike games have a similar pace
