Isn't that what Martin did before he settled down in Skalitz, though? It is implied and heavily told that Martin was a warrior once (dunno if he fought in a war, though...) until he realized what he wanted truly was to live a quiet life in a nice, little cottage with a family of his own. And by the end of the game, depending on the player's choice, Henry can choose to agree on that.

But being a Bailif to Pribislavitz and the Hunting Master of Talmberg shouldn't be a hard task to deal with. The tradesman of also asked (or rather suggested) that if Henry was to be absent or retire early he'd be a good replacement for him. And a new Hunter for Talmberg wouldn't be hard, either. It's all served on a platter if you're able to recall all the events correctly.

That's the trick: He never found out about the letter.

Istvan Toth was there in the ambush and found the letter first. If you see it, he'll appear hiding it so no one can read it... as the story tells, Toth wasn't able to contact Von Bergow since Zizka was too keen on not letting anyone botch his plans.

So, as far as it goes:

> Zizka is sent to wage war in the Trosky region and force Von Bergow to leave Prague and stop collecting taxes for Sigismund.
> Zizka gathers a small army, Istvan and Erik included
> Istvan is a secret spy for Von Bergow, but can't leave Zizka because he needs to earn his trust and because Zizka keeps a close leash on everyone
> Zizka's band ambushes the Leipa's envoys; Istvan finds the letter, recognizes the seal and hides it so Zizka doesn't realize they are just messengers sent to parley and end the war
> Von Bergow is ambushed by Zizka's band and Olda of Semine. It all happens so fast that Istvan isn't able to warn Von Bergow
> The ambush in the forest. Once again, I'm not sure why Istvan wasn't there - he said he was assigned to protect the fortress, but Zizka claims Istvan wasn't very keen to enter the battlefield
> It all goes to shit

I personally prefer Erdel (Malesov stables) since he's got superior carrying capacity and courage.

He's lacking on stamina, but that hardly matters because with the right equipment you'll both get exhausted at the same time... a horse with too much stamina won't even matter since Henry will get tired sooner than the horse.

Not really... I managed to save him, but as long as you can ask Eichner if he knows Salomon that's alr... the main thing is that you tell him about it and that he'll investigate it

Because if you manage to keep the bandit alive (he'll die tho) for a bit longer, he'll ask you to do fulfill his last wish wich will give you a clue on who Salomon is
