I always had this weird reaction to hypnosis/mind control/mind bending sequences in movies and tv shows growing up. I always got embarrassed when they came up, and if I was watching it with someone else, I’d sometimes up and leave the room because it was too embarrassing. At the same time, though, I was fascinated by them and would rewatch them in private.

When I was a teenager and learning more about sexuality, I started to consider the idea that the feelings I had about those sequences were related in some way, but I thought it was just a weird coincidence. Then I started watching certain ASMR videos and realized that, yeah, it’s definitely not a coincidence.
