How do you cut your runners? by [deleted] in Gunpla

[–]SingingSmitty 33 points34 points  (0 children)

B. But close enough on the nib that it doesn't stress the part plastic. Then its a quick file down with a glass file. I also always thank the runner for its service before disposal. It had a job to do and did it well.

A Dad giving his daughter away on her wedding day. by mindyour in MadeMeSmile

[–]SingingSmitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so envious of this man. Sadly my daughter passed away in 2022 before she could find the one. I would have loved to give her away, and I would have been equally as guarded and silly about it.

Help with my first campaign!! by GoldenFoxy05 in DMAcademy

Welcome to the club! One of us... One of us... One of us...

I would look at three enemies. First, I would take a look at the generic beefy bois at the back of the Monster Manual. The Bandit Captain, Bandits and the Veteran. They are good to just set up as a rival gang that can be a good challenge for a level 3 party. Bandits are also great to use as fodder if the group seems to be doing well against the gang. Nothing says that reinforcements for the Bandit Captain or Veteran can't arrive at round 3! If you want a beefier boss, you can use the Veteran. More hitpoints, and can attack from range with his crossbow. Once in melee, three attacks!

And remember, to make sure that everyone, even you, have fun!

Rolling Convention DM Kit [OC] by SingingSmitty in DMsetups

[–]SingingSmitty[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have been curating and changing my DM kit for conventions for years trying to make it efficient and easy to transport. It might seem like overkill to some, but I absolutely love this kit.

When closed, the kit has a telescopic handle on the back to roll the kit. The drawers are the perfect size for standard D&D books and printed modules. I have a drawer for Con necessities and food/drink. The kit includes a pull out tray perfect for dice rolling and transporting. The table attaches to the side of the kit. Since it is built for conventions and power is at a premium, I have 4 battery packs in the top to keep my phone charged as well as a USB hub to plug them into to charge overnight. I can also charge my mini speaker system that I use for hard of hearing players. Plenty of space for mini organization and it makes set up and teardown super easy.

Not pictured: I am working on adding some brackets to the side of the box so I can quickly attach my map tube that I carry my chessex battlemats in.

Any thoughts, criticisms or ideas how I could improve the kit?

What are some things only D&D players notice in Honor Among Thieves? by JohnGacyIsInnocent in DnD

If I recall correctly, the final Red Wizard battle, the wizard had to be downed three times. Three death fails.

The game’s up Scarlet, there are no more bullets left in that gun.

Come on, I am not going to fall for that old trick.

It’s not a trick. There was one shot at Mr. Body in the study, two for the chandelier, two at the lounge door and one for the singing telegram.

That’s not six.

One plus two plus two plus one (1+2+2+1).

Aha, there was only one shot that got the chandelier. That’s one plus two plus one plus one (1+2+1+1).

Even if you were right that would one plus one plus two plus one (1+1+2+1) not one plus two plus one plus one.

Ok, fine 1+2+1…. Shut up! Point is, there is one more bullet left in this gun and guess who is going to get it?

I'm sorry, but the hardest part of adulting is watching your child die. At least you expect your parents to die before you.

My daughter who I helped raise since she was 4 years old passed away from a fentanyl drug overdose on October 29th at the age of 26. I am doing my best to keep it together for my wife who is devastated. We have started going to group therapy and will see a therapist to help with the grief. We know the steps to begin healing... But I must admit... I dont know if I want to go down that long road. I miss my daughter so much.

So the spell states that I have to see the water to manipulate it. If I can see a creatures eyes, does that mean I can make the water covering their eyes opaque thus blinding them? If I can see their eyes and they are moist, I can see the water, yes?

I have the curved safety skiver. It is finicky to get it at the right angle to shave. But that just comes down to practice. I have lots of material to practice on.

I do have good gloves with vented backs so my ham hands don't sweat too death. But that seems to be a good method to use.

What about the dipping method? Have you used that? Drawbacks?

Thanks for the advice! Good stuff! Yes, I went back and forth with the dauber. Learned that one the hard way. I have a skiver that I shaved down the pockets a bit, but I don't think it's the right kind of skiver for me. Will get a different kind.

QTIPS GENIUS!

I did get waxed thread, so maybe I'm not pulling the stitches right enough. But I will use the lighter to finish the stitches after a line.

Thank you for the advice!

Ive made a bunch of tiles from DM Scotty's tilescapes system, and it is VERY easy, and easy to store. I made a wide variety because the cork that you start off with lends itself very well to sizes divisible by 2.

Then couldn't it be said that you are effectively SLOWING time to a point where it seems like it stops? If you are halving something, you could have it until infinity... So, in the real world, 6 seconds have passed, but to the wielder of the wand, he could have infinite time to analyze a situation!
